I really seek you kind assistance in this matter i have to submit my paper to Canada immigration at latest 17 November 2009 and till now i didn't score the same bench mark requested by canda immigration office i scored the following
reading 6 speaking 6 writing 6 listening 6.5 i am really in a mess what shall I do???i have a sister who have just landed in Canada and got her pr card so my lawyer here in Kuwait he suggested to attach a copy of her pr card and her birth certificate + bank statement for the last 6 month and he requested me to do the exam again but in the meanwhile he said that he will send my paper to London office with the new ielts exam receipt paper and I have to submit my new score to them despite if i scored good or bad please advise me what to do i am really in a mess what shall i do

You have not mentioned what your total points add up to. You need a minimum of 67 points to be eligible for immigration to Canada. To attain full score in IELTS (16), you need 7.5 for listening, 6.5 for writing, 6.5 for speaking, and 6.5 for reading. Based on what you have mentioned, your IELTS score adds up to 8. How many points are you missing to reach the magic figure of 67?

It is a good idea to send whatever papers you have collected thus far and add the new IELTS score (if you plan to give it again) later. You have mentioned that your sister is a PR. Are you still missing some points even after adding her 10 points? Make sure you give your IELTS again and score well.

thanks for your relpy actually i am sponsering my family I hold a BA degree in Business Adminstration and i have 89 years work experience and about 16 years education so am not sure how to count that since my lawyer have submitted it how many point do i get if my sis is a PR?and he told me that i va to score 7.5 listening and 6.5 in the others...so but if i submitted my ielts score with out getteing the same marks they will refuse me?? what shall id o shall i ask for extension shall i send a letter of extention couse i didnt have time to collect the whole papers? and what kis the period??

For your work experience (I assume you meant 8 or 9 years and not 89), you should get 21 points. Since you have a bachelors degree, you should get 16 points. Add your sister's PR points as 10 (max). If you are between 21-49 years of age, give yourself 10 points. Do you have an arranged employment in Canada or can you get the same? If yes, you get 10 more points. Look at the table below:

Factor 2: Ability in English and or French
Maximum 24 points

Factor 3: Experience
Maximum 21 points

Factor 4:Age (21-49)
Maximum 10 points

ok i got it now so i have 10 for points for my age since i am 26
10 for my sis since she is PR
21 for my experience and
25 for my education
and i got 6 in reading 6 in writing and 605 listening and 6 in the speaking shall i send my papers now??is that acceptable???

No, I was showing you the break-up. Here is what you will get (in my opinion):

1. Education: 22 (since I assume you have completed high school and have 4 years of bachelor's degree)

2. English: 8

3. Experience: 21 (If you have at least 4 years experience)

4. Age: 10

5. Adaptability: 10

6. Arranged Employment: I am assuming you have none so no points.

TOTAL: 71

So yeah, this is acceptable. However, I would suggest you also CHECK WITH YOUR LAWYER who knows best. These forums can give you an idea, but ultimately it is your lawyer who has seen all your papers and knows your situation best.

thank you your earliest reply ..i am not really sure i just followed up with my lawyer today and I have presented my sister PR card and he calculated my points and he said it is not enough I really do know what to do and i am in a real mess!!i told him that my points are enough without my husband education (he ve got 2 diplomas each one 9 month)and he said no your score will wi 64 so how come >>can you please interoperate to me again the points and what do advice me? shall i submit my papers either ways
please help

No. Relative points are 5 not 10, 5 points are for spouse education. So if he is married should count 5 marks for sister and 5 for spouse education. If unmarried will get only 5 points.

it is enough my dear... i am 30, Bachelor's degree with 8 years experience, married (Spouse bachelor's degree), NO RELATIVES in canada, NO JOB OFFER.... But i did qualified and my case is in process after eligibility review....

For IELTS, it should be OK... as i scored the same in IELTS...
you get (max) 16 points if you score 7.5 (Listening), 6.5 in all others
however you can get 8 and 12 points also depending your ielts score..... you should count yourself 8 or max 12 in IELTS (My personal View) and accordingly calculate your total score...

i have one more question if you can help me in this it would be great can you please explain this factor for me A one year diploma ,trade certificate, apprenticeship or a university degree and at least 12 years of full time or full time equivalent studies 3 point ...my spouse have to diplomas but each diploma is 9 month so they usually calculate his two diplomas or it should be specifically 1 year??the diplomas length here in Kuwait is only 9 month..so i am a bit confused pls. help

I think your score with what i have understood should be as follows

Total You Scored
1 Education 25 20 (Since u have BA and at least 14 yrs of full time education)
2 Language Ability 24 8 (your score is out of 16...as you have no proficiency in French and medium in English)
3 Work Experience 21 21 (For 8 or 9 years of Experience assumed in Cat A)
4 Age 10 10 (Assuming you are less than 49 yrs)
5 Arranged Employment 10 0 (Assuming you do not have any arranged offer of employment in canada)
6 Adaptability 10 8 (you have a PR holder sis in Canada and your husband has a Diploma with at least 12 years of full time education)

Total Score 100 67 (This should be your score)

I am not an expert in Canadian Immigration. I just guess and hope that your score is 67 (and above). However, if your lawyer/consultant is asking you for re-attempt in IELTS, Just ask him to clarify. Why is he asking you to re-attempt? What is the factor he is "NOT" adding up in your total points or what is the factor we might be adding up mistakenly. It should be clear in any case.

Secondly, my consultant has told me and my friends that Canadian High Commissions are "NOT" giving any extension in date for submitting papers because of the timelines in which they have to finalize a case. I do not if the news is true or false. But one of my friend's file got rejected because he had a similar case. He submitted his file with all docs and IELTS receipts but got his file rejected. Therefore, I am not sure whether sending a registration slip for IELTS and asking CHC for granting extension would work or no. just check with your lawyer again.
