I am so glad for you one step is behind now for you and your husband.
now the real count will start, your file will be transfered to damasucs and in 4 to 5 weeks they will send you a letter and your ecas will show application start in process on (I would say Jan 10 or so 2011) and the new time frame is up to 9 months in damascus and some times less. hope everything goes well and short process for you

I tried today calling damascus embassy and this way i dont have to go there and request an update I was on hold for 3 times for half hour each time and then get disconnected.
I am hoping to have some good news next week otherwise there will be no news around the holidays.

I am planning to visit Damascus office when my wife comes, she ll be her in 20 of Dec, so I ll be there around next week , so do you
know when the Damascus office have holiday.
if I go there should I talk to my officer who is take care of case or any.
My wife is PR Canadian but Ukrainian passport does she need visa to inter Damascus( I could not know )

Hmmm i'm not sure exactly how it works because im from lebanon, and when i was in lebanon initially with just my canadian passport i couldn't get into syria without a visa, which costs around 50 dollars i think. This year however i applied for a personal ID card in lebanon and got one, which allowed me to get into Syria with only that card as a Lebanese citizen, not a Canadian one, so i didn't require a visa!

I agree with arachir call the embassy and request more details so you can be prepared to either apply now and have it in time, or get it right before you want to go there!

I spoke with my lawyer, he thinks going to the embassy will not help the case that much. He said it wouldn't have any negative effect but I don't see it helping your case. so I decided not to go there. I only have few days off and I really prefer to spend this time with my wife on a vacation not thinking about immigration. Be sure I'll update all you guys if anything new happens.

No I am from Jordan, but my wife is Ukrainian, and I am now in Jordan. there is no problem for her to inter Jordan because she can get visa in the airport when she will arrive. but I asked for Damascus because I heard she needs visa, but can I got it when we arrive the Syria land, because for me no need visa to inter Syria.

Have you ever order Note of your file, if not do you think about it.

I know visiting embassy will not have big effects, I just want to know if I am done from background chick, because I cannot tell.
