our file is directly sent to Ankara as well in Feb2012, and since march changed to "in process" , so 5 months of " in process " now and nothing yet . My medical expired a month ago and I decided not to redo it and let them ask for it .

I 'm sure they are so busy clearing up all the files from damascus and tehran ( tourist, student,..) .
So that is why we should be more patient and pray , Thats all we 're doing right now,
Practicing Patience

all the best

I really really hope so. The immigration process is not linear at all. Often it is good to be optimistic but we should consider some facts too. Based on what I saw in this forum since last year and my friend's experience in family category and other categories I think here the "In Process" condition is different for new applicants and the ones their application were transferred from Damascus or Mississauga (July-Jan 2011 applicants) after VO closure. I remember some people got their PPR only after a few days they saw "In Process". These people were those who waited long times (11-14 months). There are others who got PPR after 2-3 month with waiting times around 9-11 month. A few days or a few months after "In Process" is really depend on your file (the applicant, documents, etc). I am not sure but I think "In Process" condition is when the officer requests the background check for new applicants. Maybe for old applicant, during the transfer they requested the background check and now they just finalize it and this is why for them is much more quicker.

Anyways, this process is not linear at all so I think we should keep our hope and remain realistic otherwise it will hurt our feelings a lot.
Wow, exactly this morning i was explaining Ankara situation to my husband and i had totally the same explanations!!! Good Job Alireza khan! 8)

I sent my wife's application around 1 month after yours. The unfortunate thing is in summer Ankara VO is extremely busy with study permit applications and it is not only the VO. Background check are done in Ottawa and since the VO closure in Buffalo there are many applications there. My wife applied for study permit too and I know Ankara VO is extremely busy with study permit applications (sth around 400-500, and this number is huge to be processed in less than 3 month). To be honest I don't think we will have many PPRs in this month :(

thank you for the response...but it makes sense i guess...maybe after september things will move along a little faster...since i guess its much more busy with travelling and school visas as you said...

I don't agree with you, June and July are the busiest time for Study Permits, usually international students must apply 3 months before September, and most of the students come one month before in order to find a residence, in my personal view, I think summer vacations rather than study permits! All we can say , Inshallah they will issue Visas this month for all of us specially who has been waiting more than 18 moths like myself! :'( because this is driving me crazy!

yes you are right, student apply in June and July but the problem is in Ankara VO office up to today only 30% of applicants got their visas. Ankara accepted application until July 1st and the processing time is around 12 weeks for study permit. Maybe it is different in other VOs but you can take a look at the forum in applyabroad.com website to see how busy there is.
