na hun. i have not done so, as there is no point in it for me at this point in time.. vivi, hojat and all the others that have app in process any new updates??? this is getting annoying.... what the hell r these people doing all day long????,

wow this process is ruining peoples live this is so stupid..im just about to send my wifes visit visa application and see what happens to that?? have u tried that yet

do they ask for criminal records once again? even though we sent it with the documents?

it was in damascus and its in ankara now, after 17 month they had decided to answer one of my emails and had asked me for more docs and i was told that background checks r still outstanding,,and i have heard that it takes a good 6-8 month for that to be completed...

It's a common practice, VO doesn't only rely on the criminal record sent by applicants, they do their own checks as well which takes time, it's part of everyone's process, so don't panic, the process has been very lengthy in the last couple year and usually takes more than 12 months, your medical and criminal record are valid for a year if I'm not mistaken, last I heard, VO is allowed to extend medical validity for another 3 months, but they still can ask for it and other documents to finalize your case.

There's a hope that Ankara would speed up the process so hopefully for you and others who are about to apply it will take less time.

I tried contacting them this morning-Canada eastern time as well but the automated voice kept saying that it was busy and to try calling another time..what the hell

I have been trying to call CIC at 1-888-242-2100 but i keep getting disconnected..does anyone know how i can get through? and which prompts should i use????????????????

i dont know what they mean by background checks too..its not like my hubby is a criminal or a threat to Canada, yes i did sent in a police clearance back when we sent in our app...btw does anyone know how long it takes for the background checks to be done???...i dont have to do anything, i have to waste days, weeks, month of my life in order for them to realize that my hubby isnt a criminal....

That's my understanding , as the sponsor you've already been through the background check when you became PR, so I don't think they spend a considerable amount of time on sponsor

yesterday the embassy called to one of my friends,it was exactely 2months after her file's status chaneged to in process.it's a good point,embassy is working but i don't know why most of you are soooo hopeless,here we are only a small group,a lot of couples aren't this forum's member and i hear they got their pr,most of comments are only increasing negetive points!!!

Yes, you are right and it seems that they're hardly working, but the waiting time for recent in process applicants, is more longer than the previous apps in this forum and it doesn't sound well!
