This forum has been dead?!! :(
No good news, no ppr for 3 weeks. :(
It's really hard for everyone. I wish this process finished very soon at least for who is 14+ !
It's not fair waiting more than 14 months.

Hope everyone is doing well. Congrats to those who got their ppr in past weeks. just wanted to let you know that a good friend of mine got ppr for his wife 3 days ago (after 10 months). So Ankara is still at it pretty hard, so hang in there, and keep your hopes high. all the best.

Question for all who have an answer..please respond

It has been more than 14 months of processing for my applicant and still no news for him. He is currently living in Damascus and is of Iraqi nationality. The living conditions are not well there at all ( bombing 5-10 minutes away from his home). He is fearing for his life. We have not heard of his file being transferred to Amman. If we did not receive any notification does that still mean his file is at the Amman Visa office? Is he still allowed to flea to Amman where it is a safer place to live ? Will his application still continue its process? We have sent many emails, faxes and have called CIC and the Amman Visa office with no answers from anyone or anything. I contacted Jason Kenney's office and was informed to contact my MP ( Michelle Rempel) and still many calls with no answers and many emails with no replies...

Hey guys, I had an email today telling my husband to pay a fee. Payment of Right of Permanent Residence Fee! :D
Has anyone heard of this?

Bahar jan I paid for that with the initial payment for the application forms. I believe it is a landing fee that they require everyone entering Canada for the first time for permeanant residendcy to pay.
Inshala this means good news very soon for you!!! :)

Yes Bahar, It means your husband's application is at final stage, Although you had a choice to pay for this when u initially submitted your application, This is a good sign :)

You were better off, if you made this payment at the very begining, since I've heard it could delay your application for at least another month, if not more.

At the begining you should have paid $1040 (which included the "Payment of Right of Permanent Residence"). You proprably paid the first part of it and not the rest.

Good luck,

Noooo :o
I can't wait for 1 to 2 month just because of a fee. It takes me one day to pay. Why should there be a delay??? It's not fare. :'(
Thanks alish, rowshan, sh7228 and imitra for help.

Bahar,

I paid the fee after sending in the application. On the CIC website it says failure to pay the fee with the initial application will result in delays in your application. We paid the fees on June 6, 2011 and called CIC weekly to find out when it was processed. It took them until June 27, 2011 to notify Damascus that payment had been made. So it should be about 3 weeks for CIC in Ontario to process your payment and notify Turkey that payment was made... From then it will be up to turkey to ask for PPR. It is definitely a time saver to pay all fees from the beginning.
