I got an e-mail from CIC saying my case has gone to Damascus on January 17, 2012. When I check online. It says Application Received then it says medical results have been received. Is that a good thing? Will my process be quick?

no because damascus is closed,

Hi,

I need your help, as I mentioned long time ago, I went down in Lebanon the second and third week of January to see my wife. Today, my wife told me she is pregnant :D. Our file was transferred to Beirut, my question is what it would be good if I send an e-mail to the Embassy of Canada in Beirut to tell them that my wife is pregnant? Does that'll make it move forward on?

wow alf mellion mabroooook for you and your wife we 3qbalnna yarbbbbbb,
in my opinion the baby still very small just weeks, so you can wait and do not tell them may be the visa will issue soon, and untill the janeen age become 2,3 month I think at that time you can tell them.
I am very happy for you

Hi all,

How would you explain my situation, i filed back in june 2011 and my file was transfered to Ottawa and never got an e-mail that it left there to Damascus...r they gonna treat this as a new file?
Yesterday i e-mailed my MP and let see if I will ever get a response. I made it clear that it is ridiculous the waiting time and that it is pure depression. I told them how unfair it is for us to wait, yet for chinese & europeans is no more than 3 - months.
I pray for an answer....
Good luck all and to those whose files are in ottawa.

Hi,

Thank you very much everyone for your congratulations. My wife has already redo the medical test in October so she is correct for a year. In addition, its the end for us because the file has been underway since 13.5 months. I do not think they will tell us to wait nine months before issuing the visa of my wife.

Hello;
Congratulations on your wife's pregnancy!
I think you had better NOT inform the CIC Beirut Office; especially if you've been waiting a lot, because they might have your wife wait until she gives the birth, and then your new born undergo a medical examination. I think you should consult one of the immigration consultants before informing CIC Office.
Regards!

Congratulations Hab!!!!! That is very exciting :) I think u are close to visa too and soon u will be together celebrating and enjoying the pregnancy together. I think u r only required to notify CIC after the child is born as they would be added on to application. she will be here long before baby is born;) Congrats again!!

If Damascus/Beirut haven't received my file even after they said Application Received. Why would they say Medical Results have been received as well? It doesn't make sense if my papers were still in Missisauga.

I am very, very upset. I am currently visiting my husband in Canada. We received a letter from Mississauga in September stating that my husband was eligible to sponsor me and that my application was forwarded to Syria. I called the CIC call centre last week to enquire about my application status. The call agent confirmed that my file had been sent to Syria. I called again this morning to enquire about the location of my application now and the call centre agent said my file hasn't left Mississauga yet!! I am sooo upset that I have been lied to. I asked him if the 4 months will count towards the processing time and he said no. So that means the visa office abroad will start counting the average processing time when they receive my file. And it hasn't even left Mississauga yet! So sad :( Can anyone recommend a course of action to take? I wonder if this has happened to everyone who applied last year?

I think you should get your husband to speak to his MP. Explain to them that you were lied to and that is not acceptable. Your husband can threaten to speak to the local radios station and papers.

Good Luck.

CIC sent me an email saying they sent my papers to Damascus on Janurary 17, 2012. Does that mean they lied and that the papers are still in Missiauga?

Do you think that will actually help though? I don't want to create problems for them and further aggravate the situation. If they lie, who knows if they will put my application at the bottom of the list and make it drag on even more...

If I were you, call the CIC inland number again (providing you are in Canada) or ask your spouse to call if possible. Specifically ask if your file has left Mississauga.
