Hi All

I'm very sorry I have not been writing! Just been busy lately, but 7amdillah our process is over! The embassy in Syria called my husband today and asked him to send his passport and two photos to the embassy here in Beirut. They said they will stamp the visa in the Beirut office and to come get it on Monday...which I was confused about but I guess the situation in Syria is getting worse. Inshallah everyone will finish soon! One year and 9 days in Damascus for us :)

Good morning to all,
thank you for your kind replies, Hopefully the next coming weeks will be good for us and all of us get PR's. I have a question, when applying to get GCMS notes, should my wife put access to information act or privacy act? and in both cases, does she need a consent from me to get those GCMS notes? Also, since we applied, we did not get any update at all since they received out file at VO, we did not even receive RQ nor paper requests which i saw couple of members on the excel sheet you guys created did... should I be worried??

I'm not well informed about the files you've mentioned; but, what I know for sure is a lot of people haven't been asked to fill RQ and even haven't been contacted by the embassy (myself included except for this month when they asked me to redo medicals). So lack of communication doesn't signify nothing more than the high probability that your file is mostly complete and when they need something of you, they will just ask for it. When did your spouse do her medicals? did she redo them?
In essence, don't worry, a lot of people are on your same boat:)

If it was not clear in my previous post, the lady I spoke to assured me that we will be notified where our files will be transfered.
And yeh, politics is at the heart of all the delay the is taking place so they can't be separated.
All the signs say they are shutting down the embassy in Damascus.
Wardeh and spouse get a call from Amman.
People calling embassy and being told files will be transfered including myself.
Farid gets a phone call to noify him that his file is being transfered to Ankara.
Scarycemetary and spouse are asked to take passport to Lebanon not Damascus (They had an interview I am not sure if Farid did an interview) so a decesion was made about thier file already.
Add to that all the political escalation in Syria and the evacuation steps Canada took >>> Files will be transfred and embassy is closing down.
