Just wanted to know does the VO send me an acknowledgement letter when they receive my file,
because I just got approved as a sponsor (step 1).

You probably will not get an acknowledgement letter.... I don't think anyone here has... or maybe a few. we really are blinded through this process! it seems impossible to get any info on your file... most of the time they don't even reply to emails! but a few people have emailed asking for their file number and got a response that way. although they don't update ecas so a file number doesn't help much lots of patience needed for this process! good luck

You should get a letter saying that you were approved as a sponsor. They probably won't send anything saying that they got your file in Damascus, though.

Im surprised myself, I thought it would take a longer time to get it. Maybe its because he is already here in Canada.
Now, we dunno if he should go to Damascus to take it or send his passport by courrier and wait here.

I just received an email from the embassy requesting my wife to redo her medical exams.

She already did them, all we have to do is send the green copy.

We already sent scanned copy by email and my wife will drop the original copy at the embassy in Damascus.

They did not ask for a police certificate, should she send one? your opinion is really appreciated.

its good Mikey. No you dont need a police certificate, they dont ask for my wife too. As you they just ask to redo the medical test.
