good to hear someone got some good news, but hey who knows good news but just be around the corner for all of us, if only they actually did do routine updates like weekly or even monthly i think it would help people a lot, not knowing AT ALL whats going on is the worst.....

by the way guys i had a question i wanted to ask, what is this AOR thing? is it a letter you get in the mail? i only got an email and in the email they told me they will return my documents( pictures or whatever). so should i be expecting a letter?

That is a letter comes in mail ( not e-mail ) and it comes from Damascus mentioning that they have received your application and it shows the file number.

They never sent me any AOR even after they started processing the file. Every time they asked for something it was by e-mail

i never got the letter too, i called my mom and asked her about my mail in canada (that is the address on file) and she never received anything.
i only got emails.

i was at the airport for sending my stuff to canad..i met a woman who got her ppr recently...and her process started at 12 july(file number)
8months from file number...9 months from the first...good for herrr.i wish i were her...i hope our passport request comes soon ...

They just wrote it in the e-mail with the Residency Questionnaire..

I NEVER got a single letter in the mail, i got 1 email telling me i was accepted as a sponsor and my file was being sent to Damascus and my file number and everything was in that EMAIL......... at the end of the email message this is what they said

This letter confirms receipt of the processing fee. It is also an outline of the basic requirements of the undertaking that you have signed as a sponsor and your formal obligations under that agreement. Please retain this letter for your personal records. THIS IS THE ONLY COPY THAT WILL BE ISSUED TO YOU.

aam7 .......... maybe when u applied they had different regulations.... but i got my file number in an email 20 days after Mississauga got my application... that was january 14 2011 , its been 2 months...... so it means that they no longer send letters... other wise why would they say THIS IS THE ONLY COPY!

Sohrab that is the file number for your file in Canada. You will be issued a different one when they start processing in Damas

I got a letter about the approval from missisauga and my client number, and my wife got another letter that they have received her file in damascus and on it it was the file number starting with the Bxxxxxxx

i got my file number when they sent me the email asking for the questionnaire, the letters i got in the mail were telling me that i can sponsor him and then i got the letter that i paid the residence fee, that was it.
