I'm sorrrry, BUT lawyers knoww sh*t-waste of money in my idea. Someones lawyer told them a hundred percent you will have your visa in the summer (march applicant) and they don't even have it yet! lol. They know what we know

I guess I always come with the bad news or it is like that for most of us. I just wanna share something that my lawyer told me and compare to what the MP says and what cic website states and nothing makes sense. One would think Canada is organized but they are disoriented more than us. My lawyer said that it takes physically one month for files to arrive to Beirut from Ottawa. So here it is my file never been touched since May 2011 for nothing. He said that Beirut is gonna be working on files from Iran and there are more than 10000 files.....it must be a lie.

Yeah I'm sorry too but don't believe in what lawyers say, well not that they are all liers or anything, but in cases like this there is no way that a lawyer would know more than CIC and the visa offices, and there is absolutely no reason for CIC to lie about the location of the files. Even apart from the news on CIC's website, in the emails people received from the new visa offices (including myself) there was a general part in all of them, from Ankara, Beirut, talking about where the files of each nationality is, which were the exact same templates of where the files are. There's no reason for CIC to hide something from us, or to lie to us.
Don't stress yourself for no reason dear, this is all a big game of patience, you HAVE to wait and see what happens and there is no other choice, this is what all of us our doing So try to keep yourself busy and as missmini said you control how this process influences your life, not let it control you :-*

I need some help regarding the payments

From what my agent told me : I got to pay a $600 application/ Processing fee, ( which I 've paid already) for the applicant.

I read some where yesterday that another $490 has to be paid for the issuance of PR .
and If it's not paid till they ask u to pay , it's gonna add another 2 months to the whole processing time.

If this is true then I rather attempt to pay it up front,

what is ur input?

Yes you will have to pay another 490 right of permanent resident fee. I had also only paid the processing fee at the beginning. A couple months after my file got to Damascus I called CIC to ask if I could pay the rest of the fees. They sent me some papers (took 2 weeks to get) I went to the bank and paid them the same day ( June 6) When I called to make sure payment was received, CIC confirmed it was forwarded to Damascus on June 26. so yes it does take time to process and forward the payment . if you wait until they ask you then it will delay the application. I think you can pay them online too it at bank. either way doing it now before they ask is better

I have a lawyer and it was a waste of money. I had to call to tell my lawyer that Damascus was closed, he had no clue. CIC has all the data on how many they process , if you look it up it's somewhere around 2000 files that Damascus received last year.... not 10000. And like Vivi said some of us have already heard from visa office that our application was sent to. I think your lawyer is just trying to get u to stop asking him questions. when I finally figured out how useless my lawyer was I just starting dealing with CIC myself instead of relying on what he said. I'm confident we will see lots if green very soon

yeah, their confirmation email was changed last week too, when we emailed them last week they said 25 days because of significant changes ... but they replied after 6 hours! so i guess it depends on how they feel that day anyway they are so much better than damascus so far, mesle una khat o neshun nemikeshan tu confirmation emailashun ke felano bahman bashe javab nemidim!!

wow it got more expensive, when i paid it was 1040$ total,
honestly its best to pay right away, it takes them like 2 weeks to notify you to go pay the PR fee, then another 2 to receive it, it just adds time to this already SLOW process
