Dear Yahya,yahya777 said:Thanks for the reply Sohrab. Do you think I should send my wife to Damascus to do the Medical exam AND go to the embassy to try to make them process her application as an "emergency". It would kind of be a "two birds one stone" thing. Do you think I should do this ?
Also, what about her police records? I know that police records only last for 4 months. She sent me the police records a week before I submitted the whole sponsorship application. Should she also make a new police record paper?
One last question: Would you recommend me to make my wife try and do a "Temporary resident visa" so that she can come here as a visitor and then do things from here?
I am asking all these things because if she goes to Damascus she must profit the most of the occasion because she won't be able to travel back and forth from Homs to Damascus easily.
Thanks for reading/answering. Much appreciated.
Salam Yahya, I think you should call on the empassy, and not or send them an emergency email.yahya777 said:Thanks for the reply Sohrab. It shows still there is a sign of life there!
reaaaaaaaally someone in december already got the approval??!!!!! that's great news....but on the site they say they currently process Nov 22nd applications ??? nobody understands this process and their way.... hope our turn will be soon.....don't worry laleh, they will find solutions i'm sure; and maybe it's better if they keep the file and don't send it right away; u don't want it to get lost or arrive to a closed embassy with noone able to transfer it after!!!! they keep it just to know where exactly they will send it....i believe the time lost at the beginning will be gained in the process, don't worry i hope they will keep our file as much they want in ottawa; i pray for that!!!!!laleh_d said:Guys,
I should be a lot patient than most of you in this thread since my application is only in the first stage and we have a long way to go. But It is really frustrating not knowing what will happen to your file. I sent our application on December 13th and I was hoping by the time I get my sposorship approval they have figure out what to do with Damascus embassy. Today someone who sent their application on December 2nd has received their approval and I think ours will be approved in a approximately a week from now. But I'm afraid that they keep our file in Ottawa and do nothing about it just like they did to some one's application in this thread.
I know all of you are anxious and frustrated and all we can do is wait and see but at this point I feel like we're just being viewed as bunch of file numbers.

Heh, Arezou ur "Good morninG" starts with a sunny "G" and ends with a rainy "G"!!! The question is, in which "G" we r??!Arezou said:
I, too, think that your wife should go do her medical exam and her police certificate asap and physically go to the embassy if possible before they shut and transfer files. She could get it same day because that was the exact case of someone else in the thread. I think you shouldn`t delay at all because they will announce transferring files anytime now, probably by the end of the month. Best wishes!yahya777 said:Thanks for the reply Sohrab. the embassy ended the priority for Syrians 2 weeks ago!! even on the website, all that announcement about helping Canadians and their families to leave Syria as soon as possible expired; it might be too late but u won't know until u try; good luck!!still waiting said:I, too, think that your wife should go do her medical exam and her police certificate asap and physically go to the embassy if possible before they shut and transfer files. Yes exactly, however, I think she would still have a chance.missmini said:the embassy ended the priority for Syrians 2 weeks ago!! even on the website, all that announcement about helping Canadians and their families to leave Syria as soon as possible expired; it might be too late but u won't know until u try; good luck!!
yes considering the circumstances I HOPE SO!!! but he needs to be aware from before; considering everything maybe not all knew that the embassy had this emergency procedure : good luck!!still waiting said:Yes exactly, however, I think she would still have a chance.
I don`t think she`ll lose anything by going there; however, the major dilemma would be for me the office for the medicals!missmini said:yes considering the circumstances I HOPE SO!!! but he needs to be aware from before; considering everything maybe not all knew that the embassy had this emergency procedure : good luck!!
