I think the counting is an irrelevant thing relevant Damascus. We saw cases finalized in less than 6 months and also saw cases which took more than 15 months to finish. So there is no rule. We have to wait. Simply we have to wait hopefully!

that's soo true, kamal is the best example :/ i guess it becomes relevant once u passed the 13 months and it's KIND OF ur right to make inquiry, bother them with emails, get the MP involved etc

I am a woman and sponsored by my husband. I am waiting for more than 8 months and no news. Therefore i do not think it has a big role in this issue. :'( But i wish it was so! ;D

Hi Arezou ... have you got your PPR yet or not? I am a newbie. I am sponsoring my husband from Iran and I am living with him in Iran. Do you have any advise for me?

I think u should start counting from oct 11 that they started processing ur application not from the day u handed in ur application. Wardeh case was very extra ordinary since it took them a year to complete the first step!

First step was around 40 days (now its 68 days)
Second step was around 10 months (now 13 months)

siavashf our case was not extra ordinary, it was just a normal case because we finished in one year and the processing time now is 13 months , so we were expecting to finish within the 13 months wait.
when I sent our application to Mississauga that time step 1 was 30 days , so they received our application in Mississauga on November 2, 2010, and on November 29, 2010 they sent me (I'm the sponsor) a letter in the mail stating that I was approved as a sponsor for my husband and they wrote that our application will be forwarded to Syria .therefore, Damascus received our application on Dec 6, 2010, and on the top of that letter they wrote my client ID #.

As for Step 2 , it took us one year and 21 days , from Dec 6,2010 and my husband got his ppr on Dec 27,2011.

don't rely on the dates from e-cas; follow them and whenever the date changes then u know that they continue to update ur info = working on the file...i don't think anyone waited 1 year for sponsor approval; Wardeh case was in the timeframes for both step 1 and step 2 - that's what i remember and she will confirm :)

yes missmini you're right, our case was very normal, I think siavash has just misunderstood me.

As for step 1 it took us 27 days till I got the sponsor approval letter from Mississauga which had on the top of it my Client ID number.(they received our application in Mississauga on Nov 2, 2010 and I got the sponsor approval letter on Nov 29,2010) then our application was received in Syria on Dec 6, 2010.

and for step 2 it took us one year and 21 days till my husband got his PPR.

thanks Wardeh for still staying around and confirming; wow 27 days for step 1, that was soo fast now it's 68 days :( :( :( i'm sure it feels amazing to be done; good luck for the new step - the start of Canadian life together!!!

I have some information may be you like it about Damascus embassy :
Application revived for permanent resident (spouses and children) :

2006 = 2101
2007 = 2335
2008 = 2176
2009 = 2226

2010= 1719 Q1=492 Q2=414 Q3=446 Q4=367

2011 = ? Q1=536 Q2=445 Q3=219 Q4=?

percentage +9% +7% -51%= interest!! i think they move application to Ottawa

And for all category (Damascus embassy):

2006 = 6420
2007 = 10838
2008 = 11650
2009 = 12075

2010= 11641 Q1=3776 Q2=3932 Q3=1965 Q4=1968

2011 = ? Q1=1881 Q2=2039 Q3=891 Q4=?

percentage -50% -48% -55% ?

This statistics show embassy want to move or close
in total i think have two chance:
1-strong chance . they move all application to another office such as skill worker application in Damascus that send to Warsaw
2-weak chance . they work harder and faster and finalize this category before that close the embassy.

Good luck

you're welcome missmini.
actually when we applied back in 2010, the time for step 1 was 30 days , that's why we got our sponsorship approval letter in 27 days.
wish you all the best and enshallah you'll get your PPR very soon.

Good Luck all.

Khoda nakoneh Samira Jan
We will be in our own homes very soon. Oh we have so many wishes. Do not give up. We will pass these days too. :-*

Hey everyone! :D
So I'm back from Iran and I did have the best time ever!!
CONGRATS to everyone who got ppr recently, hope we all get it very soon. ;)
Arezou jan can you please give me the link of the chart? The last revised version? Thanks! :)

Also guys, I know e-cas is not reliable at all, but should I be worried that me and my husband's just says "application received", while some of you with about the same timeline as me have gone to "in process"? Is this bad?!!

just curious, anybody know the DMP Dr. Fariba Maghsoudian in Tehran? I just gotta say she's a down to worth Dr. and so easy to get along with. She doesn't have that ego like how some Dr's do, she's always optimistic and goes out of her way to help you out. My aunt is in Tehran and she always asks her how my application is going.

anyway, just something i wanted to share :)
