Canadian people sponsoring spouse living in Iran:

All my friends got their visas within 4-8 months! Has the processing time changed very recently? Is it really gonna be 13 monthsss? Anyone from Iran who has got PPR earlier than 13 months?

I'm sponsoring my husband from Iran. we've waited 7.5 mths so far with no end in sight! We have friends who got PPR in 4-6 mths but that was a few years ago and the processing time has greatly increased. it is possible to get PPR in less than 13 mths. they say that 80% are processed in an average of 13 mths. it could be more it could be less. When did u apply?

Very recently... and I'm sponsoring him as conjugal partner due to immigration/ marriage barrier. And from what I've heard it takes more time than spousal sponsorship

yeah dear erina we had people who had their ppr anywhere within 6 to 11 months, ive been on this forum since last january and for me its been 9 months and nothing yet, so yeah
the timeline has definitely changed, when i just came to this forum i remember we had people finishing their files within 6 months, but after all the political stuff things have changed and to be honest with you 11 months is the closest thing to reasonable thinking, im expecting to hear something at 11 maybe 12 months, so yeah, be patient

when i wanted to redo my medical tests this year my doctor said that all applicants from last year has renewed their medical. Even he was surprised with this situation and waiting time's increasing!

yeah ......... its not a normal situation though, we all have to keep in mind that even though syria represents 5 countries, it had the 3rd fastest processing, after singapore and beijing ( im talking about asia, not buffalo or london etc etc) syria had an average of 5.5 for 3 years!
after the uprisings and protests the timeline went to hell, and now 11 is a HOPEFUL average, but yeah hopefully things will go back to normal and everyone will get their ppr's within a reasonable timeline, hopefully,
things arent too great right now, iran just closed the British embassy(they sanctioned iran and syria) and they are debating over the canadian embassy, hopefully it doesnt happen because its going to cause a hell of alot more problems for iranians including myself.....

forget all that, lets all look at the sky and wish for the best

but yeah arezou jan, almost everyone redid their medicals, my wife hasnt done it yet but she will soon, her medical expired september 9

guys i have a quick question i hop you answer me. as of me i have been waiting over a years for my ppr, and week ago the candian embassy in syria contact me by e-mail saying

In order to complete the assessment of your application, a visa officer requires that you (xxxxx xxxxxx) ) attend an interview.



The interview will be held ON MONDAY, JANUARY 09, 2012 AT 13:00 pm at the Embassy of Canada, Damascus, Syria. This letter must be presented at the reception on the day of the interview.



The following documents are outstanding on your file. Although there is no guarantee that a visa will be issued following your interview, we request that you submit the following documents to expedite the processing of your file. Please note that the Right of Permanent Residence Fee is refundable if a visa is not issued. Please bring these documents and your original passport(s) to the interview.



- YOUR ORIGINAL PASSPORT

Inshallah you will get it the same day! We had our interview last week. They had asked my husband to bring his passport as well, I think for security as well as making sure it was still valid. We did not get a visa issued after the interview, but they told us it won't be much longer. They will ask you questions about your relationship so just go over your application. Also make sure to be very open during the interview...don't hide anything. It is very awkward taking to someone about how much you love another, how you met and your whole life story but just remember it's for the best!

after that moment i thought to myself, they need to hire immigration officers who have wives/husbands waiting to be sponsored, so then they can understand and make the right decision, i mean half of my co workers dont know what long distance means..... so yeah , i just wanted to share that

January: 4 PPR
February: 4 PPR
March: 2 PPR
April: 2 PPR
May: 6 PPR
June: 12 PPR (Hero Month)
July: 1 PPR
August: 0 PPR
September: 2 PPR
October: 4 PPR
November: 4 PPR
I hope during December and of course today and tomorrow we will hear good news from Damascus.

you mean that that canaddian embassy may be closed in the future in syria oriran?
