hopefully we will done soon! from what I've learnt from this forum it is very normal to not hear anything yet. lots of people waiting for 9,10 + months to hear anything at all. if you look at the chart with everyone's info on it I'm sure u will find it useful Damascus was going really slow but seem to be picking up the pace. we've had a few people get their passport request in the last few weeks. I wish they would update e-cas, it would be nice to know any info but we don't get a lot of feedback from them. I sent an email and never got a reply since almost 2 mths ago! it is a long hard process but I just keep telling myself each day is one step closer. where r u from? are you sponsoring you husband/wife?

Salam everyone my application I just got approved as a sponser I was waiting since aug2 and now it's in Syria Damascus so can someone help me or give me advice when I should hear something plz

Congrats on being approved to sponsor.... now the really long wait begins! the current processing time out of Damascus is 13 months. we've had people on here approved in much shorter. it all depends but prepare yourself to not hear anything for 6+ months. it is a long wait... but everyday is a step closer. good luck

It seems like so long but just remember you could be done sooner That's just the timeline Damascus gives. some days the wait seems unbearably long, but you will find lots of support on this forum and as one of our members said remember how much you love you spouse and remember the wait for them is worth it

I am from Iran. I was sponsored by my husband.
Last time we sent an email on August and then in October but no answer. Why they ignore emails? Why don't they give even a short reply?

yeah but i cant visit iran from syria, i have to go back to canada and then go.......... dumb rule..... but what can i do, since they call me a IO(immigration officer) and im here on a work visa, i cant leave unless i go back to canada first, but yeah i know the time zone is the same , we talk everyday as we did when i was in ottawa, but yeah i gotta say im tired of all of this, i never thought i would ever experience the feelings/frustrations of people dealing with the immigration office , but then god put it on my plate and i fall in love with someone 9000 km away, its faith i guess

oooh, what upside down rules!!! it's sad to b soo close but still cannot visit, and going back to Canada is not exactly a 2h drive but it's ok, don't think abt it too much, u r closer and closer now, if ur guess is right (i wish for u that it is!!) then u have just 2 more months working hard and focusing on ur work might help the time pass faster and i think u'll feel better too, helping someone else in the same situation
woow some files just stayed there for 13 months and nothing?! do they warn the people to provide more support abt the problem or it's just 13 months with no news at all?....is it maybe cuz some documents were never received or were misplaced? aah preparing this application is so stressful i also have a feeling that some nationalities will wait longer by default...but as long as it's over at some point for everyone, that's what's the most important

are aziz midoonam, but the thing is right now the average is 11-12 months.........
personally im expecting my wife's file to be done february which is 11 months, yeah i know we all thought it would be 9 months and it was BEFORE, but now with the all the things happening in syria that cant be possible unless you already live in canada, im from ottawa, i grew up there, i was in ottawa since i was 10, and now 15 years later here i am in syria working on peoples files, the only thing i can say about this process is UNPREDICTABLE

You are right, unpredictable is the best word that can explains this unclear process. No rule!
