you have almost finished your applications
be there early take the requested domcuments if any along with the passports and present yourself with a smile and all the best you may have the visa stamped same day or they may ask you to come back the following day at 3pm as I realized from different threads for damascus applicants.

sohrab, yeah i can imagine how the Canadians there feel comparing with the ones born in Middle East; they r not used; but woow just 2 hours away from ur wife comparing with 10, it's much better it's also the same timezone, u go to sleep in the same time and wake up; plus u could visit even in weekends (next month there will be some long weekends)
nagz, thanks for fixing the chart, it's really sad that some people don't care about the work and time spend of others; maybe a password which can be sent only to some members of this thread or some restricted access would help

yeah but i cant visit iran from syria, i have to go back to canada and then go.......... dumb rule..... but what can i do, since they call me a IO(immigration officer) and im here on a work visa, i cant leave unless i go back to canada first, but yeah i know the time zone is the same , we talk everyday as we did when i was in ottawa, but yeah i gotta say im tired of all of this, i never thought i would ever experience the feelings/frustrations of people dealing with the immigration office , but then god put it on my plate and i fall in love with someone 9000 km away, its faith i guess

you have no idea how long the queue is , i was looking at files from 13 months ago.... but the thing is as far as i see the only reason it takes that long is if there is a problem with the file, i mentioned earlier we issued visas to people with 5 6 months of waiting, i know it doesnt seem fair, but its the processing procedure they have here, and as far as the overtime goes, after hours the system is shutdown for security reasons.... so we cant do overtime , the only thing we could do, which is what i did is do things by hand but it doesnt make much of a difference since it need to be input into the CIC system/CSIS system, so yeah it makes things maybe 1% faster, but other than that nothing, and thats only because of the situation in syria right now, the staff arent allowed to stay in the embassy more than 2 hours after closing, but when things were calm and normal, staff could stay AS LONG AS THEY WANTED

I notice that they updated the e-cas. Its written: 'We started processing your application on November 18, 2011'.
And we got the email for PPR on Nov. 20...
It took them only 3 days to review the documents and take a decision.
So the embassy can keep a file for over 8-9-10 months or even a year without even look at it? ???

ECASE dates arent real my friend, they are estimates, there is a person in charge of updating the site and he/she will update it at their own speed, so sometimes you will see dates that dont make any sense, like mikey, they started processing his files on a friday lol

Hi Arezou Welcome to the forum! My application also started processing in Damascus on April 12. We got a letter in June asking to pay final fees but that's all. Good luck

are aziz midoonam, but the thing is right now the average is 11-12 months.........
personally im expecting my wife's file to be done february which is 11 months, yeah i know we all thought it would be 9 months and it was BEFORE, but now with the all the things happening in syria that cant be possible unless you already live in canada, im from ottawa, i grew up there, i was in ottawa since i was 10, and now 15 years later here i am in syria working on peoples files, the only thing i can say about this process is UNPREDICTABLE

I am hoping to hear some good news tomorrow but it is only a wish. it is so tough to be away from your loved ones. I am hoping that most of us will be done soon before the christmas and new year holiday and vacation season will start again.
