It is not PPR but at least you know at what stage is ur application. Dont worry they would of recalled the email if it was meant for some one else. I guess you will be coming back to Canada with ur wife soon . Have fun in Damascus and keep nagging on the visa officers to work harder.

I just filed my wife's application and we have a long waiting time ahead of us but seeing your uplifting attitude is heartwarming for those of us who are at the beginning of the road.

yes its a long process but this forum give u hope and u start getting attached to everymember and when they get good news it feels like u did and it keeps u going ....if u need anything were all here and if u want u can add ur timeline in the processing time list if you havent already!

Hello everybody. My name is Yahya. I am trying to sponsor my wife who is currently in Syria. (I am from Montreal)

On August 24, 2011, I have met the requirements for eligibility as a sponsor and my wifes application for permanent residence was sent to Damascus.


My first question is: Why when I check my application status on the CIC website, it says "We received [My wife's name]'s application for permanent residence on June 29, 2011.". Should I start counting the months from August 24 or June 29?

My second question is: What should I know about this sponsorship? I mean the situation in Syria is clearly not very good right now so how does that affect my sponsorship application? Is there anything I can do to speed up the process? Is my application being sponsored at this time? When should I expect an answer?

My last question is: Is there any way my wife can come to Canada before her application is fully finished (and accepted hopefully)? Is there any way I can get her out of there?
