I always use case specific enquiry email system "https://dmp-portal.cic.gc.ca/cicemail/intro-eng.aspx?mission=damascus" but I have never received any response.
Is it working?

No :-\ don't use that e-mail (re-damascus-im-enquiry@international.gc.ca) because that e-mail is the one the embassy replies from it when somebody sends them an inquiry.
but if you want to send an e-mail , send on the following e-mail ( damascus-im-enquiry@international.gc.ca)

But Once time I used the email re-damascus-im-enquiry @ international.gc.ca to update my wife s adresse, they answered me the next day it was fast.

Quick question: On Sunday I sent an email requesting my file number--since our application has been received in Syria for 5 months and they still did not provide my husband with a file number. How long does it usually take for the embassy to respond to inquiries? I'm going from all this waiting ???

I tried sending an email using the case specific inquiry email system a while ago, but much like you, I did not receive a response. It seems like most people are getting response when they use the following email address: damascus-im-enquiry @ international.gc.ca .

I send them an email using that address two days ago and will let you know when/if I receive a reply

Congrats Bash and Yaya - very exciting
Things seem to be moving along quickly - we were told it could take 2-3 months for our RPRF to be received in Syria - it was recieved yesterday after only 3 weeks ;D Finger crossed they keep up this pace!!!!

Canada day would come on Friday, and the embassy works from Monday till Thursday
they don't work on Fridays
