Dakar 2016 Applicants

*URGENT QUESTION*

Can someone please confirm how to contact Dakar? I have been using the webform for the Dakar office on the CIC website, however, I got an email today that said it is not going directly to the Dakar Office and to contact them directly - well how on earth do I do that??? The webform is all that was given to me by CIC call agents.

How are you guys contacting Dakar Visa Office???

I have contacted the visa office by email at least 3 times after we sent the passport of my wife as requested on the 21 of Nov 2016 without any response. Can any one recommend any other way of contact? can we call the Dakar office also?

Am sure you will hear from them shortly. You can also contact your MP. They can get a response within a week or less. There a many people on this forum and outside this forum who have been waiting for more than 2 months. So you are not alone. Just exercise patience.

I did once at the beginning of my application. Sponsor Approval was supposed to happen in 60 days when i applied (Quebec) and i didn't hear from them after 90 days, so i ordered my notes. Couldn't get anything useful out of it anyway.
I think it's just luck, not sure how things really work in Dakar, there is no pattern in the process. Keep the faith, it's not easy but you'll forget about it all once it's done.

I ordered my notes beginning of Jan, got it sometime last week.
I noticed a due date of 12/08/17 which was really discouraging.

I hope my app is processed before this date.

Do you happen to know the officer (dakar) on your file.

I am currently trying to book his flight to Canada but what I don't know is can he transit through Europe with his current passport? As I understand it, you get the Confirmation of Permanent Residence on your passport and then the PR will come 2 months +- after he lands in Canada.

I tried looking for answers online cannot find anything

He can transit through Europe without a transit visa. He cant leave the European airport though and 'land'.

My timeline:

App received by CIC: March 10th, 2016
Started Processing: May 19th, 2016
SA: June 15th, 2016
Medical results sent in on July 18th, 2016 but they weren't actually updated on file until November 11th, 2016 after we were in touch with our MP.

December 1st, 2016 they requested final payment and fingerprints. Fingerprint results were submitted February 2nd, 2017.

From others experiences, how much longer will it be until they contact us again? We are nearing a year on our application so I am anxious to hear about a final decision (as I'm sure everyone can relate to on here).

We finally received PPR today. We provided the additional proof back in November 2016. It took them over 3 months to get back to us.

Question for Dakar resident: did you send your passport via courier or did you hand deliver it?

Congratulations Diorlat! Great news! Just as Carla said, I think you have to follow the instructions in the email sent to you. You would think Dakar could give those resident in the city the option to drop off their passport but to the best of my knowledge they don't.
