Today is the day which we had all been waiting for 8) ;D :D ;) :) :-* :P. The 1st draw of autumn/fall will take place today, whereby scores have been anticipated to fall according to the May 2016 video of the CIC official at Edmonton on YouTube.

Hopefully, they will issue more ITAs in the draw tonight InshAllah, they had said they would!

So excited about tonight! Had been waiting patiently since so many weeks, tonight will be the relieve InshAllah.

Scores cannot drop suddenly. Once they start issuing 2000 ITA's or 2500 ITA's per Draw it will take 2 Draws to compensate the damage. Then on the third Draw you can expect the scores to come down to 470.......

So let us expect they start issuing 1000-1200 ITA this time....then they increase upto 2500 in three or four Draws.

Been said, after three or four draws, CRS score could drop to 470.. What do you think of people with CRS between 420-450? The chances would be for the beginning of 2017?

My particular case, I have 422.

Thanks.. and Good luck!

I have 438 and I don't think of getting direct ITA in near future, not even in first half of 2017. The reason is even if they start giving more ITA's it will take a long time to reach to 450. Again 450 will become their minimum target and they will not let it go below this. So below 450 in 2017 will be a real dream coming true for us.

I'm not expecting any miracle for today's draw. Close to 485-490 with more ITAs would be good.
No. of invitations is the key. If we see higher number today, we can be hopeful of upcoming draws.

Cheers!

What's the best place to watch or read the draw ?

[/So, This is why we have to give a shot to PNP (OINP, NBPNP) and wait for the additional 600 points.. Is that right?b]

Ladies and gentlemen, regardless of what happens - I hope all of you are doing good and are continuing to improve yourselves in the meantime. While there is convincing evidence on both sides that debate on the issue of whether or not the statement the CIC official made is true or not, ultimately, nobody really knows for sure. It would be prudent to see how it unfolds and prepare accordingly.

That having been said, Good luck to all and let's see what the day brings us. :)

P.S.: I've been mostly quiet because I've been very focused on hitting the gym lately (8 kgs down woot) and taking extra classes to learn how to code in the meantime, leaving me with very little time to spend here except it's a momentous day (like this one!).

In case anyone needs anything, just drop me a PM or something.

I do not understand something. There has been speculation about scores dropping to 450 or even below that (courtesy the generous CIC gentleman from the viral video). On the other hand I have also heard about Ontario PNP reopening with a possible cutoff of 450 (which presently stands at 400). So if ITA scores drop to 450 and Ontario increases the cutoff to 450 then why would someone go for OINP. Sounds contradictory to me... or am I missing something here. Please shed some light.

Because there has only been a handful of draws with 450/451-points. The chances of getting ITA is VERY slim, so candidates could choose to apply for PNP to get the extra 600 points.

Yes agreed, there have been just a handful of draws in that range up until now. However if you believe the discussions happening lately then we have reason to believe that we will see those kind of cutoff scores more frequently in the near future. What I meant to ask was that can both these things (cutoff coming down to 450 and Ontario raising its cutoff to 450) go hand in hand?

I have been waiting patiently for September. Ever since I watched the video on youtube. I was actually hopeful after watching the video. But, suddenly now that we are in September, I don't see any reason for CIC to drop the number of invitations. They have enough backlogs for a few more years. They are still figuring out how and when to make changes to the current system. They haven't even released the mid-year report for this year. They are either busy or they don't care.

So, don't expect much in this draw. I don't think they will suddenly start inviting 1000 to 1200 candidates.

I increased my scores from 408 to 467 (with many failed IELTS attempts). But, CIC started reducing the no. of invitation that same very month. And then my birthday happened and scores reduced to 462. Its disappointing and frustrating.

All we can do is to hope for the best and prepare ourselves for the D-day.

Same here, I increased my score from 441 to 481 but CIC reduced the number of invites. I had been patiently waiting for September as well. Somehow I feel sth miraculous WILL happen tonight, they will increase the number of ITAs perhaps, even if minimally... I don't think they will go back on their earlier promise/statement that cutoff will decrease in September... InshAllah

What makes you say that they have enough backlog for a few more years? Do you have a source for that?
