Basically the title^, I'm eligible in CEC and have been trying to increase my score via IELTS General.

My work permit is expiring in the next 6 months and I'm currently working in one of the STEM NOCs in the technology field.

I'm not sure what will be the scenario like if I am unable to get an invite by the end of the year, If I look at the current crs score ranges and the number of candidates in those, it seems impossible.

What should I do apart from giving the IELTS again?

What will it be like if I did not get an invite and my work permit got expired?

What will happen to my bank accounts and my driving license?

I'm super confused right now, I even called a few registered immigration agents but no such information from them.

If someone can help in providing the information would be really appreciated.

Apply for closed work permit through your employer.

You have a very limited options in that case. I would say consult a immigration lawyer to extend your status and in the mean time apply to other companies who can provide closed work permit. Or apply to PNP and hope for the best.

If your work permit expires without getting an invite for an immigration program, then you would need to stop working and leave Canada.

If your current employer is not willing to go through the LMIA process then try to find one who will.

Have you maxed out your language points? If not, retake the test until you do.

Consider learning French although you don't have much time for this.

Sounds like you are putting all your hope in CEC. You should really consider applying for PNP. That's probably your only option with that score or you should find an employer in IT that is willing to support a close work permit. If an employer is not helping you, you should switch jobs. The goal is to get PR.

I will suggest you look into provincial nomination. Regarding your bank account and driver's license nothing changes. I have a colleague who is a similar situation. She stopped working and applied for change of status which will give her more time to stay in Canada while she hopes to get ITA soon.

@Ju87 did she apply for a visitor visa? My 2 year Canadian experience will count on March end 2024 but my work permit expires on January 11th 2024.
What's best I can do in this situation?

Your options are already provided
- Increase language score
- Second language
- Since you didn't mention about your education, go for a higher degree
- PNP options: Best one so far
- LMIA

Hi, Which PNP option is best in this scenario? My friend who has crs score of 463 with LMIA looking for options. Can you please suggest?
