Does anyone know during which part of the process that Ottawa reviews medicals? I know that when we receive AOR, for many, ECAS will show "2. Medical results have been received."

So are medicals reviewed immediately (aka once they are received?) or are they reviewed once the PR application is officially "in process?"

The reason that I ask is because we inquired whether or not my "IN PROCESS" file showed that my police report was received (I used a channeler as a placeholder and I wanted to see if they noted it as received before I sent the real one), and the agent told us that she saw:

1. My medical results passed (hmm, does this just mean received?)
2. Husband was approved for SA
3. Criminality and security has not been noted as received or processed. (I'm guessing this means they haven't gotten to this part yet?)
4. No notes asking for any supplementary documentation at this time.

So, I was hoping that maybe some of you could shed some light on when medicals are reviewed. If medicals are reviewed in Ottawa, then my file is an example of a recent IP file that is actually being processed and not sitting in a pile with a misleading IP status on ECAS.

Thoughts? Any updates from anyone? Thanks all! :)

To me that sounds like someone is working on the file! Where did you call to get the info?

CamL-W, I hope so. We called the CIC call center and we were lucky to speak with a helpful agent who was going a little out of their way to actually look into our file. I think the reason that she looked into it was because we mentioned the channeler report and wanted to see if they noted it as sufficient.

Yeah you def fell on a good one! I hope it really does mean they're working on your application! Ecas shows IP for my Hubby's PR also...So here's to hoping we both get awesome news soon!

From my eCAS notes, my medical exam was dealt with around the same time my file was sent to Ottawa, but the paper file sat in inventory for some months afterwards. Sadly, the medical being passed by itself is not evidence of a file being worked upon, the gold-star is whether eligibility, security, and criminality checks have started.

to give you some background on the medical. the first set of GCMS notes that i ordered in May states "Passed" which is safe to assume that if indeed that is what it says your medical checks are good to go. Whether or not someone looked at the file is hard to say as like i said previously back in May my medicals were are stated as "passed" and i know no one looked at the file in May as there was no individual assigned to assess my case as noted in the GCMS notes. If ECAS states "In Process" i would like to assume someone is looking at it. But the fact that criminal and security checks have not been started should give you an inclination that no one has touched your file.

hey everyone I'm on the Ottawa spreadsheet but I can't update it... what's up with that? Can someone send me a link to a version I can update? I have received SA and am in process since I put myself on there...

Also any thoughts on what month of people are currently getting their DMs now for PR? Seems like people from September 2014 and later all pretty much have theirs? From Ottawa I mean.

Nevermind! I figured it out.

I was clicking on someone's link that didn't let me edit for some reason but then I googled it and found it.

Here it is if anyone else wants to update!

Congratulations!

Extra photographs are not always necessary; only a minority of applications that go through Ottawa receive a request for more photos. (Mine, for example, went through without a request.) We can speculate they'll ask for updated photos if there's something wrong with the initial set, if they suspect that the person's look has changed, or if they've simply lost them, but since they never give a reason for the request we can only speculate.

Are passport requests only for countries that are not visa excempt?

Correct, if you need a visa to enter Canada as a visitor then you would send the physical passport to the VO abroad. If you are visa exempt you would send a scanned copy of the passport bio page.

this morning i open ECAS and it says decision made :) so happy right now, thanks to this forum, it helps a lot

They need the physical passport to affix a single-entry visa for landing. If they simply mailed the COPR like they do for visa-exempt applicants, then the person may be unable to book travel to actually land.

:)hi guys just done sending my passport, i just have some question , is that ok i send self address smaller mailing envelopes ?? thanks
