I wouldn't worry too much, sounds like they probably lost it more then they didn't have enough proof...

Will you still have private insurance for the US after you land? Depending on the extent of care you need, it may be less expensive to cancel the US insurance if you have it and pay out-of-pocket for Canadian care. While more painful than health-care-having Canadians like, the out-of-pocket charges are often a small fraction of US equivalents.
Thank you for your post.

You are probably quite right that most likely I should just consider paying out of pocket for Canada care and get a travel insurance in case of some catastrophic medical events (I have been paying a little over $500/month for health insurance since I quit my job in California and moved to Niagara Falls, NY to be closer to my husband) - but I heard that the travel insurance only covers emergencies? I don't have any serious diseases (I have high BP which is under control by medication and I am hyperthyroid which is also under control by medication) but I also heard travel insurances do not cover pre-existing conditions, so those are the 2 reasons I thought I'd keep my Cobra for 3 more months, just in case I need some care that end up costing over and beyond the cost of my current insurance due to my pre-existing conditions... (Like what would happen if I had a heart attack and I only had a travel insurance that covers non pre-existing conditions? They may say they won't pay because I am on high BP meds?) My Cobra insurance covers me in Canada and US for any conditions, pre-existing or not.

yes multiple times and multiple documents. I wouldn't wish it on anyone :-\

I'm in total shock today, I signed in on ECAS this morning and it shows that my application is in Process. I'm happy but I also feel a little bad cause I know so many of you have been waiting much longer than me :(

How long can I expect it to take until it show's DM or until they request more documents/evidence (if they do)?

Oh wow that is really fast! Hopefully any day now then :)

I just recived an email from Ottawa Office with the title "Ready for Visa - London". It says my application has reached the final stage and that they are requesting two immigration photos, and Appendix B, Uppdated informtation Chart, passport copy and an self adressed envelope to send to the office in London, UK.

So I'm guessing my application is approved now?? :D ???

It looks like things are heating up in Ottawa - That is great news for you all!

You may wish to contact Canadian insurers for a quote. Bridge insurance for newcomers until OHIP eligibility is fairly common, and $500/mo is rather steep.

Additionally, if your spouse is employed with benefits then you should see when you can be added. OHIP does not by itself cover prescription medication.

Recieved DM on my husband's application! I am very lucky and do not want to take away from anyone else who is still waiting but this is what I checked on (on a whim) while I was out last night:

Permanent Residence
We received ML's application for permanent residence on April 14, 2015.
We started processing ML's application on June 24, 2015.
Medical results have been received.
A decision has been made on ML's application. The office will contact ML concerning this decision.

My husband is in Michigan! Yes, hopefully the end of August! He just has to give notice on his lease!

Good news, I am hoping I go home on Monday/Tuesday and see a COPR in the mail for my wife. Her App went "In Progress" on the 16th of June (ECAS was updated on the 23rd). It would be a nice treat for Canada Day (I would probably flagpole on Canada Day if possible, just for fun).

Congratulations and no small amount of envy to those with recent DMs and COPR-receipts!
