Yeah, just keep waiting. My application was received in May and my husband was approved as my sponsor in June. My status online still says application received, even though I'm pretty sure it's in process as we received our passport request at the end of November. Just be patient it takes awhile :( I know it's hard! I am checking the status multiple times a day LOL

It is really hard to try and be patient. We applied in April and received sponsor approval in April end. Our status online says application received. In October they updated the medical results. Anxiously awaiting for even a passport request. Our GCMS notes don't have any red flags and they haven't asked us for any additional into.
Really doesn't make sense why some applications take longer than others.

They sent it when I inquired, as I had not received the email from them when I saw my status change to DM.

When you received COPR, What kind of mail was it? regular, registered, or express mail?

It was a standard letter via Canada Post. Comes in a brown envelope with the words "Citizenship and Immigration Canada".

Hey everyone,

does anyone have any idea as to which Visa Offices Ottawa is helping out by processing some of their applications? I've seen some people from Islamabad and Beirut VO who are going through Ottawa.

It makes me wonder when this began and if it has some sort of influence on processing times

My VO is Beirut . after 5 months of receiving my sponsorship application .,they sent me an email stating that my application has been forwaded to CPP Ottawa , that but a couple months later thay emailed me that my application has been forwaded to the visa office in Beirut .
I have no idea about why they forwaded it to CPP OTTAWA first then BEIRUT , i think it doesnt affect the process time coz it s been 10 months now and we still waiting :(

Oh wow, I bet that's really confusing for you. What is the normal processing time for Beirut?

We just got passport request from Ottawa today!

We applied in July 2013 too so maybe they will be getting your PPR to you soon? We were a tiny bit nervous because they sent us something about it being moved to Los Angeles, but thankfully that's not the case! Looks like we also have our interview waived as well. So nice now to hear something after so many months of nothing. Can't wait to see "Decision Made" here next hopefully!

Here is the message I got from them in case anyone is curious:

Code:
[pre]This is in reference to your application for permanent residence
in Canada as a member of the family class.

We have now completed the initial assessment of your application,
and expect to finalize your application without a personal interview.
While an interview does not appear necessary at this time,
we reserve the right to call you to an interview,
should this become necessary at some future stage in processing.

PLEASE READ CAREFULLY ALL OF THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION BEFORE PROCEEDING FURTHER.
YOUR APPLICATION WILL BE FINALIZED BY THE CASE PROCESSING
CENTRE – OTTAWA (“CPC-O”).

In order to continue processing your application, the following is required:

- Copy or scanned image of your valid passport.

Please also confirm your mailing address.

Thanks so much! I hope it won't be too much longer, but I feel so fortunate because we have been waiting 7 months. No matter what though, it's so difficult being apart. Hopefully everyone will start hearing some good news here soon!

What is Ottawa approximate timeline from PPR to COPR?

Hi Everyone! Just to let you know: you guys keep me going as I wait!! :D

My Family class (Spouse) application is in Ottawa (received August 26, transferred to Ottawa on 16 September). I am renewing my US passport tomorrow and I'm wonder if I should forward copies of my new passport ahead of the passport request or wait at this point?

Here's hoping all the July-August-September folks start seeing those requests come in!

Thanks!
