I don't own a home...I live in my mum's basement apartment

I think the COPR will be enough - if the questioning even gets that far.

Has anyone landed and then went back for their belongings soon after?
If so was it an issue?

Okay, it seems like PPR have stopped!! I am one of the next in line (February 21 was date app. was received) and it seems like they did PPR for all the January applicants and then stopped. GRRRRRRR!! I am sitting in Canada now eagerly awaiting my PR so I can finally start working. I know I am going to go nuts in the meantime. How do I pass my time until then?? :-\ :P

I did this myself when I moved to Canada long ago. I landed with a small number of stuff first and then went back for the rest a few weeks later when I found an apartment. I had no issues.

Then again, this was 13 years ago so I'm not sure if things have changed.

Thank you, I was hoping to fly into Vancouver and then drive back a week later

That happened with Dec/Jan as well. They did PPR for December, then it seemed to die for a while. My best guess is they work in batches (or attempt to). They attempt to get as much of one 'batch' (month) done before moving on to the next. It could also explain why people see their IO change.

Oh I hear you on this! I have been doing the same thing... I've been keeping busy by cleaning/organizing/cooking and spending LOTS of time with friends (they can always count on me to be a lunch date). I finally decided to go to the states to spend some time with family (since my COPR is being mailed here and I plan to land when I go back) I cannot wait to join the working world again!! I am afraid to start applying/looking for jobs since I have no solid confirmation of any timeline however :-[

My wife is in the same boat. She's been trying to keep herself busy. It's hard because she's just used to working and also because work has also served as a social place for her too and where she has made friends in the past. She'll also be going home for awhile for family stuff this week and we hope/pray that while she is down there, COPR will arrive in her mailbox!

Think I might need to stop checking ECAS as seeing the "Application Received" status is driving me batty@ :P

No kidding! I am trying to limit myself to just once a day MAX and no checking on weekends. But it is tough!

Of course, having received AOR and SA in the wee hours of a Saturday morning in October, it's hard to resist the temptation.

Incidentally, CIC says ECAS is updated on Tuesdays - is that even remotely true? Meaning, is it EVER updated on Tuesdays? Or is it randomly updated, like the rest of CIC?
