I just noticed that on my COPR it says that my place of birth is Queens (which it is), but my passport says my place of birth is New York. Queens is one of the five boroughs of New York City. I've contacted my attorney (as useless as they are) and they have told me that this will not be a problem. Anyone have any input? I'm nervous.

SA just arrived. So if someone could please update me in the spreadsheet: AOR July 17, SA July 23. Thank you!

Updated - congratulations!

I put on my lawyer hat and took a much firmer, more formal tone in an email to CPP-Ottawa today (also copying my MP and the new minister of CIC). I hate taking a more aggressive, adversarial posture, but emailing meek, polite requests for status updates sure hasn't worked.

Wish me luck.

G'luck. Sometimes meek is no longer the answer.

Sigh. At least I don't have to do ALL the medical exam over.. but I just got an email today requesting that I get my Panel Physician to update my chest Xray and send in. So no PPR.. but shows they are doing SOMETHING to my file.

Question: Does this mean they won't ask for anything else like the updated FBI I was worried about? How long will I have to wait if I get this done this week or next?

Good luck, Ivan!
I hope this gets you results!

Good luck! REALLY hope it works.

Thanks for the support, guys! Hopefully I struck the right tone. I'll post the text of the message if it works ... or blows up in my face!

GCMS notes regularly take exactly 30 days, and unfortunately provide you a snapshot of the time when you requested them, rather than the time when you receive them. But still, if there's an unexpected issue with your application, they can help you figure out how to deal with it. Good luck!

OMG :o....but still will be something

I don't know why they requested yours since they last a year... But my medical expired in April - I did my medicals last year - I redid my app in Jan. I'm only asked for the chest xray - which I'm surprised about honestly. I'm also surprised they didn't request FBI too since it was expired when I sent the application. I hope they won't end up asking for that and more stuff. I figure if they needed more they would ask for everything all in one go.

Good luck Ivan!

My wife is also sending an e-mail for a status update (though nowhere near as bad as the wait you've had). We had PPR July 12th and no word since then. eCAS still says "Application Received", which concerns me since most seem to get an eCAS update to "Decision Made" in a week or so.

Has anyone from January who had PPR get an eCAS update?

Thanks
