My husband and I both ended up emailing them several times about the COPR with the same results... once was almost immediately, the third time almost 2 weeks later when the situation was already resolved.

lol, wildly inconsistent. Of course! thanks

I'm about to mail them back and tell them I sent in my paperwork. Probably won't get a reply to that one, though. (Which is okay, because a reply will be "Send us different stuff.")

HI :)
I emailed them about the COPR and they finally emailed me back..
We are still a bit paranoid thinking that what if it is denied.. because they never actually write it was approved.. :S and well they just say finalized.. which I assume that means approved.
Anyways I emailed them and they said this..

-----
Dear Sir/Madam,

Your spouse's application has been finalized and his document is now being returned to him.

If you have included a prepaid Xpresspost return envelope, your document has been returned using this envelope. If you did not provide a prepaid Xpresspost return envelope, your document has been returned to you by regular mail.
-----

Too bad I didn't know about the Xpresspost :( Hopefully it wont take too long to get to San Diego.
So when they say document being returned to him is that COPR??? Still worried something may go wrong ??? I mean at this point could it still be denied??

Won't calm down until it actually arrives on his mailbox!

There are 2 opportunities to get AOR, although not everyone gets AOR.

There is Stage 1 AOR from Mississauga and Stage 2 AOR from Ottawa. Ottawa doesn't normally send out AOR. I only got confirmation they had my file because I sent additional forms and they confirmed receipt of those forms via email.

It's very likely you'll hear nothing from Sponsor Approval until PPR unless you didn't send in medicals/police clearance OR they lose something :(

Thanks Amikety and congrats.. Did anyone get ppr today?

That should be it, and I would expect at least 2 weeks for snail mail. One of the emails we received when we sent an email request indicated that it was approved:

Dear Applicant,
Your application for permanent residency was approved on 2013/06/13. Your COPR is in queue for printing, once printed it should arrived within a few weeks by courier.
Kind Regards
Case Processing Pilot - Ottawa | Centre de Traitement Pilote - Ottawa - ND0111

and another:

Date: July 6, 2013
Dear applicant,
Confirmation of Permanent Residence (COPR) has been sent on 21 June 2013.
Sincerely,
Case Processing Pilot - Ottawa | Centre de Traitement Pilote - Ottawa – AA009780/AF

so I believe that they can offer more when they choose to. Maybe we received biased treatment because we're in our 50s, who knows?

. Was your copr mailed to you in Canada? and if so how long did it take to get to u?

OH ok I just wished they would have been more clear on the matter like yes it was approved and COPR has been mailed! I feel like sending them another email hehe... but I guess we will just wait two weeks anxiously.

Thank you Yellowrose

Adeolu, our PPR came on 6/7, and I returned it by email on Sunday, 6/9. From what I gather from CIC responses, it was approved for COPR on 6/13 and put into a print queue, mailed on 6/21 and arrived in Texas on 7/1.

barefoot - when did you first send your e-mail? Just curious how long people have waited for e-mail replys from them.

Thanks!

Thanks!

The first email we didn't receive a response. The second was sent on July 7 and they responded July 10.

I guess e-mail is best. What is the overall sentiment regarding e-mail responsiveness from the VO? The first time I e-mailed them awhile ago, they replied back in the same day. This time, no feedback so far. Do people fine that overall they do respond? Sounds like it is mixed - some have good experiences, other not so good..

The first time we emailed them I got a response the next morning. The second and third times they never responded. Other people seem to be having much better luck though. Let us know how it goes for you!

Stage one changed to "decision made" on ECAS today. *fingers crossed*

So far no luck with our recent correspondence. We even begged them for a timely response to our questions in our e-mail. I would like to follow up but don't want to annoy them too much
