Congrats :). We got ours in about 2 weeks(inside Canada) with copr, so maybe 3 for you? They use the cheapest mail option to send it, which is unfortunate and should be embarrassing for them.

Can we expect an email or any other form of communication that the COPR is coming. All it says online is Decision Made, and no other information. Do we just wait for the COPR to arrive in mail or do they usually send some form of communication first?

All you can hope for is something like "A decision has been made. We have sent you correspondence regarding this decision on so and so date".

Also the call centre can tell you if anything has been sent yet.

I have a feeling you and I both will just come home to the COPR one day. I don't have an additional line about correspondence either, so I have no idea if and when they sent my COPR. I may call tomorrow to see if they sent anything. We'll see! :P

I know this might be a long shot for most people but I emailed the Ottawa office a week ago about my "DM" status. I just received an email from them stating that they have sent out the "COPR" on the 13th of this month so I should be receiving it if not end of week probably next week. For those that have had "DM" status for upwards a week or more, try emailing the Ottawa office as they should be able to provide you some answers and to the one still waiting I feel your pain.

I have a Quebec question. I received my QSC on November 6th. Of course, the Quebec MIDI is supposed to provide this information to the Ottawa VO. However, there are discussions on these boards that some people have proactively provided a copy of their CSQ to the Ottawa VO via a scanned email. There was debate back and forth on whether or not this was a good idea....

Is there any new thinking on this topic? Has anyone provided a scanned copy to Ottawa without being asked? Any thoughts on whether that sped up or slowed down the rest of the process?

I'm currently leaning towards providing a scanned copy via email but curious on whether anyone has any thoughts.

Thanks.

Congrats!! :D In addition to that, the only thing the CIC call centre is really good for is telling you if mail's been sent. You can get through pretty quick if you call at 8am (in your timezone).

Thanks for this. It gives me a bit of hope. I went ahead and emailed Ottawa too, after reading this. We'll see which comes first, a response to the email or my COPR. I'm hoping maybe they did all this in a batch and maybe stacked up the DM's to go through and issue all our COPR's at once on the same day.

Seems to be the day for emailing Ottawa. I'm still waiting on DM, and when I got my notes it was from before I went in process in late September. My meds at that time were set to expire on November 27, so less than 10 days from now. So I just dropped them an email to ask if they've been extended, using the Thanksgiving holiday as an excuse because appointments will probably get harder to come by over the next couple of weeks.

I doubt I will hear anything, but figured it was worth a shot and it might give me insight on where I stand in general. With a number of other people who applied and went IP at around the same time as me getting their DM, I keep thinking it will come any day, but no such luck so far.

Can you call the call centre if you are not in Canada? I'm in the US and currently waiting for my COPR in the mail as well.

If so what is the number?

Dial 1 613 944 4000

Option 1 for English

Then follow the prompts...can't remember what they all are now - I think the first one will get you to CIC.

Hey, jamsham.

So, if I'm reading your post correctly, they sent out your COPR 2 weeks after you saw DM on ecas?

Yep, just about 2 weeks after DM they sent it out. Could be different for others, some have received it within 6 days of seeing "DM"

Thanks! I'm deliberating if I want to call or just wait (im)patiently and see if it shows up. I appreciate it!
