Hey, I just noticed a small subtle change to ECAS today.

I logged in, status is still Application Received but now I see two separate addresses in ECAS, one for mailing address and one for home address. (Both are the same)

Does this mean that my application is progressing or does this look like a new feature?

Is this before you click on the status link? All I see is one mailing address in a box on the right as soon as I log in.

Are you logging in as the sponsor or the applicant?

I logged into eCAS today, both as myself (Sponsor using UCI) and as my wife (Applicant, using Application No.) and only see one address listed each way, both listed as "Your current home address", with mine being in Canada and her's being the USA.

Logging in as the sponsor, I see separate boxes for the home and mailing addresses (showing the same address). As the applicant, I see only the home address box.

In both cases, the relevant application (IMM0008 for the applicant, IMM1344 for the sponsor) was filled in with only the mailing address specified, with "yes" checked in the box on whether the home and mailing addresses were the same.

As myself (with my own UCI) there are two boxes.

I also did check that the box stating both the mailing address was the same as the home address on both applications.

EDIT: I did some searching around, looks like this might be an indicator of In Process or AOR2, which makes sense.

The double address box thing is most likely because you either sent in the form that Authorizes use of representative with, or after, your application filing. I received it after they received mine use of Authorization for my spouse, the applicant, to authorize me as representative. In that case it put my mailing address in one box while maintaining her home address in the other.

Yea same, spouse has his COPR but only one address on both sign-ins. Sponsor the addy is on the left, applicant addy is on the right.Or perhaps it is to do with if your home address differs from where you requested your documents sent to. All our addresses were the same address for everything.

I mean if you authorized your spouse to be able to call in or request info on you via the Use of Representative form. As I said I had my spouse(the applicant) fill that out so that I(the sponsor) could call in to the call centre and try to extract info. Now that that call centre is useless, it doesn't do much anymore for me.

Agreed, but something obviously triggered the change in ECAS somehow. I did post awhile back inquiring about why the street # was a separate line in the address in ECAS; that's also appeared to magically correct itself. I can only assume someone is actually working on my cases files though ;D

If you were married in Ontario (as an example), you'd get the license from the city, a record of solemnization of marriage from the ceremony, and the license some time later from the province upon request.

Damnit, yes I meant that. Even when I was trying to specifically avoid the confusion, I fell right back into that linguistic trap.

I noticed the whole street number thing change in my address as well - although it's still not quite formatted properly, with the apartment number in front of the actual street number, plus the state I live in isn't listed. When I logged in this morning, we finally had decision made on SA after they screwed up and sent our application to Ottawa before they'd done SA. So I think my change is a result of the SA process finally being complete.
