I know that documents being requested does add some additional wait time, b/c your application goes back into sort of a queue for those needing additional documents. I think I read no more than 2-3 months though? Gosh it's been awhile - I'm honestly not sure. Have you requested your GCMS notes recently? That could give you some insight as to whether your Police Clearance from Mexico was attached to your file, etc.
Unfortunately, I haven't. I always thought I could just wait it out and hopefully all would go well. I am considering it though. We're in month 11, almost 12 now, so I sure hope to expect some changes very soon!!

So once I get my COPR,I can get a bus down to the states for one night, then cross back over and I get my permanent residency?
And all I will bring will be my COPR,passport and a small overnight bag with a change of clothes etc.
The stamp my passport at the border and "activate" my permanent residency?
Make sure you keep the receipt for where you stay, as CBSA does require evidence you were outside Canada (I had my passport stamped and then re-entered Canada. It took longer to get the US to stamp my passport than it did to become a permanent resident).

We got Decision Made today. We checked on Friday night (Asia) and we were still IP, but this Sunday afternoon we were DM. Sent an email double-checking on if CIC had received our new medical on Friday night. I guess they did. Good luck to everyone. The process took us 10 months.

Application received in June, changed to IP in Feb, changed to DM in April, because, you know...Ottawa.

Yay, AmericanGirl! I've been working 12 hours a day lately. I'm so far behind! I did manage to get my partner landed in the middle of all that. I'm still trying to find the time to write up a little description of our process.

How well-connected is CPP-Ottawa to Québec's MICC?

I'm in the interminable period of waiting for CPP-Ottawa to move on my file. Is there any benefit (or drawback) in submitting an unsolicited copy of my CSQ? I vaguely remember that a copy should be routinely transmitted, but it would be annoying to experience a delay if one wasn't.

I didn't have to do that (I moved to BC), but following the forum I've noticed people were requested to send their CSQ to Ottawa, because Quebec just informs Ottawa they gave you a CSQ, they don't really send it to them.

Just not sure if you need to send it by e-mail or regular mail, go back in this thread and you'll probably find it, if I remember correctly, someone was talking about it recently...

I logged in yesterday to see that ours has been updated to Decision Made!
I hadn't logged in for a few days so I'm not 100% sure when that was done but it says they had started processing it April 20th!
Now to anxiously wait for the mail!

Does anyone have a grasp on the vehicle export/import thing that could help me out?

I am currently 'visiting' in Canada until our application is done, hopefully in a month or two here. Am I correct in thinking that, to export the vehicle, I need to present the title and an ITN# to the US border, drive onto US Soil for 72 hours, and then I can Import it when I land..?

Just curious. I don't have my title on me, it's in Oregon. So if I need it before and not after, I'll arrange to have my family mail it to me.

Thanks! I have a very basic understanding of the export/import process, so any advice is appreciated.

Oh! And it appears since my vehicle is older than 15 years, I am exempt from regulation/RIV? Does that just mean I don't have to pay the $200+ fee? What does it mean if my car is exempt from RIV? Not having any luck on their site, lol, or ICBC.

We thought it would be sent electronically because on the CSQ it says CIC has been notified. It was NOT for us. I had ordered my notes and saw the only thing pending was the CSQ. We sent it and 3 weeks later we had Decision Made. Not sure about sending an unsolicited copy, but for sure send the copy once they ask. All in all I don't think it adds much more than 2 weeks to the processing.

I believe Beshoo sent their's via email and that worked but not 100% sure.

We did send a scan of ours by email when they asked for it (we scanned the white copy). It mist have been fine because we got an approval of the PR several weeks later. It can't hurt to send it by email unsolicited. After all, what does it cost to send an email? (Nothing.)

I am new to this thread, and may be a bit early in the process (my outland submission from US was received November 4, 2014), but I am trying to figure out a few things. At the time of submission, we didn't have the FBI fingerprint information on file. When I received sponsorship, I sent the FBI report to CPC Ottawa with the case number. I tracked it to the building, but I am concerned that since it's our original, that it didn't get into the file. I know CPC Ottawa doesn't respond to emails about document receipt, so has anyone done the same thing, and had any problems? As well, what is the current estimated timeline for US outland applications does anyone know?
