Has anyone tried to use the e-mail through Ottawa to update//change their address? I've been fighting with good ole' USPS and haven't had any mail forwarded yet so I figured better get on changing it asap with CIC.
If they have, is there any specific way to format it? I know it says to use the application number in full. I just want to be as obvious as possible making it clear of the address change so there is no confusion. Thanks a lot !

When is it acceptable to contact your MP in regards to your application?
Honestly,we haven't been waiting an over average amount of time (since June),so there's nothing strange about the amount of time we've been waiting...

generally, MPs won't help applicants/sponsors until they are past the processing time listed ONLINE (which is 16 months for ottawa) or if there is a specific problem. thre's no harm in asking, just don't be surprised if it has 0 result, and they get the same answer you would probably get. even though the recent "trend" is 6 months, CIC doesn't consider that to be the average. CIC will go by the time posted online. Also, if you look at the ottawa spreadsheet, you will see there are plenty of applicants from early 2014 who waited more than 6 months. 6 months wasn't really an "average" until this summer. For the most part most Ottawa applicants are procesed in 7-8 months, sometimes more (look at feb 2014 applicants and those from late 2013). Also, if the applicant isn't a US citizen, it can't be assumed they will see the same processing time as US citizens.

I have emailed them and never got a response back. I had everything UIC, File number DOB of both of us old address new address, and it was never updated online.

I called and the guy stated that it may be that they won't update it online. So if you send email you can also fax it.

We updated the mailing address for my wife and haven't heard anything either and it's been a long time.

I updated mine through email. I heard back from them 7 days later saying it was updated. It showed up updated in Ecas that week.

I just sent them everything I had UCI#, App#, Sponsor name, Applicant name, DOBs etc. In a well written email.

Not sure but it's pretty frustrating. They seem to be stuck on mid-July applications and have been for the last month or so.

I'm still waiting as a June applicant. They asked for our CSQ which was sent the following day and have heard nothing since

I've noticed when people send them something it takes them from 1-4 weeks to deal with it I am assuming they were slower in January because they made a few mistakes with CoPRs issued at the end of December, maybe "holiday spirit" was the reason (I know a few people beside me that got CoPRs with mistakes).

Landed today!!!

Took us about 40 minutes. Had super awesome border officers. Went super smooth, had a tear in my eye as they all welcomed me to Canada!

I sent all of it in a very formal email with all of that information. When did you send it? I sent one in Dec and Jan

Landed today!! ;D ;D Took about a half hour-45 minutes. The American side was funny in a way because the poor lady officer didn't know what to do since as far as she was aware she couldn't deny me entry to my country of citizenship ( like they do for people of other nationalities) so she called the Canadian side and told them I was coming. It went really well and they were impressed that I had all my paperwork and had the B4 form actually filled out prior to coming in. I actually got the 'Welcome to Canada' too . The only question I was asked was whether I was asked to leave Canada or committed any crimes before ( I assume it's because that question is on the CoPR). They gave me some papers and that's that.
