Hello

My situation is pretty confusing, I hope people with experience can give me some advice.

I am sponsoring my wife through Kiev, Ukraine. I received my sponsor approval on Feb 20/2014. On the letter it had the adress of Kiev, Ukraine consulate where the case should be processed.
But the Canadian embassy in Ukraine is closed due to the turmoil in the country. So when I called CIC they said my case was on hold.
Now I called them today and they said my case was transferred to Ottawa. I only found out this from calling CIC, they did not send me any letters or anything.

I have several questions:

1) Should I expect another letter with a UCI number for my wife stating that the case is being processed in Ottawa?
2) My wife moved to Russia for now, to stay with her sister because we do not feel safe in Ukraine. I want to update my wifes address, phone #. As a sponsor can I do that? Where would I send the updated information? Thank you.

Hi! Your case is probably being handled "behind the scenes" in Ottawa and will be sent back to the Embassy in Ukraine (assuming it opens back up) for final processing (CoPR and issuing of the visa on her passport). Keep an eye on the Bulletins at http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/manuals/bulletins/2014/index.asp. If alternate arrangements are made, that's a good place to see it.

To update her address, I would send a case specific enquiry via https://dmp-portal.cic.gc.ca/enquiries-renseignements/case-cas-eng.aspx?mission=kyiv. I suspect that someone is monitoring the e-mails (check the auto-response for additional instructions too).

Which office issued your COPR. You said you drive to the bridge so I guess you were on a TRV or visitor before landing?

Ottawa issued the COPR. My wife (americaninlove) is the applicant, I'm her sponsor. She was visiting me as a visitor, so the standard 6 months. I hope that answers your question, let me know if not.

It's been almost 3 months after getting the "medical results have been received" update. Does it mean my application process has reached the final stage? How much longer does it usually take for the PPR?

no one knows what is happening to ur application or how it is being processed unless they update ur ecas. some applicants got their ecas updated on each stage and others got their ppr while their ecas was still showing medicals result have been received . So, it is a matter of time and it depends on the visa office the application is processed at, add to this the usual or official processing time and the date u have submitted ur application which is not mentioned on ur outline .what is ur visa office? and when did u get your approval letter and when were ur medicals done??

The reason I post my question to this thread "cpp- Ottawa" I thought you could figure out the visa office I filed my app is Ottawa. I sent my med with my application altogether.

Yay! I got PPR yesterday and they say they do not require an interview. Things are moving along in Ottawa.

To give you some idea of our dates:

App. Filed.......: 26-08-2013
AOR Received.: 16-09-2013
Meds done: 20-08-2013
Interview........: Waived
Passport Req..: 13-03-2014

Hope everyone else gets some news soon!
