HEY ALL! ..so i'm not an active member BUT I follow a lot of posts and I figured I'd share some good news and maybe get some feed back!

I was one of the Buffalo applicants (Dec 2011) my app got transferred to CPP-O and after what seems like an eternity THE WAIT IS OVER! CPPO was really fast with issuing landing papers, I got the PPR request on June 7th, e-mailed it to them June 10th and received the landing papers today in mail in Canada (we had them change my mailing address as I'm staying with my spouse on a visitor record) but here's the twist..i'm in TX and head back sunday wahhhh lmao it had to happen when I was out of town! but im not complaining! ahhah
The plan is to go back as a visitor, if they ask at customs about landing papers I'm just gonna be honest with them and tell them that we got the papers on Friday and its a long weekend in Canada so just going to make an appointment at a CIC office and do my 'landing'! (hubby doesn't feel comfortable with mailing them..and I don't blame him took way too long to get it)
ahh i'm so excited..just in time for Canada Day!
everyone that's waiting hang in there guys..the wait is well worth it!

You got a letter sent to RIV right? Just make sure it was sent there or else you'll have a bit of an issue haha

I haven't done anything yet because I am still in process. I will get it all in order when I get the PPR. By then I will be in Canada and will have a LOT of time on my hands!!

Normally, it's business hours for the export. IE 8-4, 9-5. We had to call Prescott bridge to see when they opened.

Question for those who've recently entered Canada with a U-Haul: Can anyone confirm that I do not need to go through any export control on the US side with a U-Haul full of my family's stuff? My understanding is that the export control is only for commercial transport, but I want to be sure.

I'll be entering as a "returning Canadian" with the better part of our household goods, and I'm declaring the rest of our stuff as goods to follow on the off chance that my family might not receive their COPRs before the summer is over. That way I can bring the rest of the stuff in later without any issues and my family can just cross with their suitcases.

Well, it's been a few years since I did it, but there was absolutely no requirement at the time for anything other than cars (which must be exported).

My impression that export and import are for vehicles you own and are going to leave in Canada. A U-Haul is rented and will be returned to U-Haul, they should know what to do. We crossed in April with a truck and trailer(our own) and the truck was the only item we needed to export. My husband just said they told us they were only concerned with motorized vehicles nothing that needs to be pulled. The trailer had to be declared at Canadian customs however and not usre how U-Haul works that.

I used a U-Haul trailer. CBSA didn't care at all about it. Not one bit.
