Hello All,

A Chartered Accountant from India, will still have to complete the below requirements under the MOU?

You will be required to successfully complete the following:
•the Uniform Evaluation (UFE), and
•fulfill or be exempted from the prescribed practical experience requirement.

Thanks in advance for the help.

Dear Vigilant, AOA

I just sent in my transcripts for evaluation.
Shall I wait for guidance of pathway as a result of above?

I am afraid that if I go for registration in January 2015, I may not miss deadline of Feb. 1, 2015.
How much is annual subscription and can we avoid this by registering in January 2015?

W. Salam,

I think the annual regeistration renewal fee is CAD 280. If you are a member of any international accounting body which is coming under IFAC then u don't need to send your transcripts from evalulation. You can directly register as a legacy student under regulation 6-4 or 6-5. Below is the link for details:

Dear Vigilant,

Thank you for the info you shared concerning your registration.

I am also gathering all the forms and experience certificates required under Internationally Trained Accountants with good standing with IFAC.

Pls I want to ask you,
1. Should I go ahead to submit all the documents now including experience certificates or I should just register as a legacy student first and then send experience certificates later?. I have all documents with me duly certified now and ready to be shipped. Pls guide me.

2. Is it alright for me to send copies of my qualifications and WES evaluation as well.

3. Lastly, can this registration add value to employment search as Internationally trained accountant or do we still have to do some certificates or diploma courses in accounting or bookkeeping to be relevant in Canada as some have been advising?

Pls I await yr urgent response as always, Thanks.

Dear Friends

I had a chat with one of the CPA's of Canada recently. As per him, there is no more the system of enrolling Internationally Trained Accountants (ITA's) as Legacy CA Students. The system is totally changed to CPA PREP and then PEP and then CFE along with practical experience requirement of 30 months. You need to send your transcripts of University and CA Institute along with your certificates in order to get exemptions within CPA PREP and PEP and also practical experience requirement. But anyhow, you need to sit for CFE.

I'm still not sure whether the above has already overruled the previous regulation as I still see the old regulation/rules in the CPA Ontario site.

I would also urge my other forumites to research in this regard and enlighten the information sought to everyone here. It will be helpful to all.

Thanks.

Its better to get registered with them first and then submit experience certificates etc at later stage.

Check it on CPA's website. Mostly they dont need acadamic certificats. U just need to send the letter of good standing from your accounting body directly.

3. Lastly, can this registration add value to employment search as Internationally trained accountant or do we still have to do some certificates or diploma courses in accounting or bookkeeping to be relevant in Canada as some have been advising?

This may add some but still you need to get some certification or u have to complete the CPA to get a reasonable job.
Pls I await yr urgent response as always, Thanks.
