Hi,

I'm currently organizing all the documents for submitting our outland sponsorship application next week, but have question about country specific requirements:

For India, CIC is saying that if your birth is registered late (which is my case) then they need following original documents:

1. Baptism certificate - My wife didn't get baptised, so we don't have this.

(or)

2. Old school records (Fifth class, Middle standard and Matriculation/secondary school certificate), and Voter's ID card.

for #2:

- I have voter's ID card. - we have this.
- School records:
- Secondary school certificate: We have this.
- Middle standard, let's say 10th class certificate: We have this.
- Fifth class: We don't have any official record for this. But we have old school ID card from fifth class. Will that be accepted by CIC ?

The school where my wife studies fifth class is closed permanently now, so it's impossible to get a school record for 5th class.

Any input from experienced people will be helpful here.

Also: CIC page says we need to submit these documents in original. Will they return this back or to be safe we should notarize and send them?

My wife's birth was registered late.
So what I submitted was, original birth certificate, original aadhaar card and she also had wrong birth date on her 10th mark list so submitted the original corrected 10th mark list. And nothing else.
Got decision made now.

Hi username_1, did you submit originals? Thanks!

How will they return it? Please help.
