Hi All,

I am an Indian citizen and would like to obtain my PCC. On the Passport portal for PCC, there is a question "Country for which PCC is required" - would this be "India" or "Canada"?

1. Because applicants have resided for more than 6 months in more than one country. They would need PCCs from those countries as well.

No, it's Canada. You should've rephrased the question slightly better.

What OP meant was the country that needs to be selected for the issuance of the Indian PCC- the Indian Passport website has a drop-down menu to select the intended country.

Pardon me. Now I have conflicting answers from a VIP and a Hero member.

I will try to rephrase - I am applying for Canada immigration (of course). As part of this, I am obtaining a PCC for my stay in India (I am an Indian citizen). This can be done at the Passport centre. To set up an appointment, I have to login to the passport portal and fill in a few details.

One of those details include a question:
"Country for which PCC is required" with a drop down menu (with all list of countries). Should I be selecting "India" or "Canada" from the drop down?

• I feel its "India" - How would Indian passport centre grant me a PCC for my stay in a different country?
• Confused if its "Canada" - Why else do they have a drop down menu? + "country for which PCC is required" sounds as if its asking for purpose?

Response from an expat or anyone who has been through this is highly appreciated.

Indian PCC has the wording 'no negative information for travel/visa to xyz'. So the issuing authority wants to know what they should put in place of xyz. So the correct answer is Canada.
I know it is stupid, as if negative information for Canada is different than negative information for US or any other country.

It wouldn't be citizenship right. Would the answer be 'Immigration Purposes other than citizenship' or it would be 'Residence Permit'?

Are you sure it should be immigration? A consultant told me I need to enter Residence permit.
