Hated the horror of your story but lovin' your positive and RATIONAL attitude! You know, I understand that Immigration is a serious and tough job. I wouldn't want to be a visa officer. But sometimes their treatment of people is just embarrassing for me as a Canadian. But you, wawaprince, are DEFINITELY someone I would like to see my country welcome. Good luck.

Quick update:

on the 23rd of June 2009, we went together to the MP's office, the MP's assistant received us, & she was very accommodating & helpful. we explain the story, gave her a letter , & included in 3 annexes:
  • E-cas status printout
  • List of all correspondences with the immigration including dates & a precise description of what was sent & received.
  • My previous history with the visa office of Paris, concluding with the reasons, on why i feel that i was desciminated in the past, & that the current delay is rather concerning

The MP's assistant has sent an email request of status to Paris the same day, & she is awaiting a response within 10 days.
Nothing yet , but it has only been 3 days ... & the MP's assistant is suggesting me to allow 2 weeks, since Paris seems extremely busy during this period. (she says that she kept getting a busy signal from Paris telephone's line) which is unusual for her.

P.S: in 2 weeks, the immigration part of the application would have been in Paris for 1 FULL YEAR! which is the maximum estimated time, for a family case application.

UPDATED NEWS!

The MP's assistant just got back to my wife today, after 16 days from the day of the initial request of status sent to Paris, & need I to mention, she had to send 3 follow ups mentioning the word "URGENT" just to get a response from them!

My wife told me that
"1 more month before everything is finalized in Paris, they are currently checking your security checking"
PMM mentioned that to me on an earlier post, & he was very right, it's Extra securty checking because I am "Libyan"

CHC probably has no doubts about the marriage, but your citizenship is the stumbling block. It is quite possible that you will be requested to have a security interview. But with the request for RPRF it would appear that you are getting close to the end.

PMM
So technically 1 more month to go, & finally after 12 months of processing in Paris & 17 months total, I really doubt there will be any interview, unless it's for asking about government affiliations, & other security related questions, which is kind of good news.

Should i still get my CAIPS?

FINALLY DONE | Immigration visa ready to be issued.

I just received the confirmation today, that the VISA is ready to be issued.
what a relief, this came after a bit of overtime 1 year & 6 days (overdue by 6 days)

I ma looking forward to go get my VISA, so I believe that the next time I enter in Canada, I'll be a resident, & not VISITOR.

Finally :)

Rasha, Boncuk, & rorita_76 & everyone else who took time to read & reply here, Thank you so much!

Indeed, it was a great relief, like the weight of the world has been lifted off my shoulders, finally I can start making plans, knowing that the omnipresent "WHAT IF..." is gonna be gone from most of my sentences! & starting living the life i've been waiting for, & making the plans without additional immigration barriers nor extra boundaries.

I called my wife, & congratulated her as well, she supported me for all those years, my family, & of course my new born son who gave me more reasons to continue & to never give up.

Thank you for watching over me, & for being just (for the one watching over from upstairs)

Happy ending!
