Scarborough = galloway boys,

this is the view for outsiders although its not the fact.these galloway boys occupied certain part of scarborough,i guess its northern part and people live there not by choice, esp in the vicinity of these notorious boys of toronto.

Pls browse GALLOWAY BOYS n MALVERN BOYS for ur understanding.

Crimes occur everywhere in the toronto but no one wishes to live alongside of most dangerous street gangs.

Hi...

I have been in Mississauga for 6 months. Following are my monthly expenses (for two):

Rent 1 bed apartment in mid-rise near square one $1000(including all utilities and parking)
Groceries: $300
Transport:$240
Internet /TV: $100
Eating out: $200
Misc: $100-200
Phone: $60 (for two numbers)

So, on an average, you should be ready to spend $2100-$2500, if you are planning to stay in GTA...

Honestly, Ive been asking myself this same question! Even here in the Uk, we dont pay as much as this and nobody here have been able to give a good reason, why its like that. Even here in the Uk, people that do Survival jobs can afford a full 2/3 bed apartment with all essential utilities + Car.

Then, How does someone that do survival job thats 9 or 10 dollars/hr survive.

They might be working two jobs in a day in order to survive. It's like many poor people in Hong Kong. Rent in Hong Kong is generally more expensive than in Canada. Many lives in cage or coffin homes. Compare to Hong Kong, Canada is not that expensive.

MY wife and I live near to downtown (Ossington Subway) in a spacious basement of a well maintained house. I will put down our monthly expense as follows:

Monthly rent - 900 (inclusive of high speed internet, TV and utilities)

Grocery - 350 (we shop from No Frills, which is just few minutes walk from our house)

TTC Monthly passes - 252

Telephone - 110

Misc - 200

Total - $ 1812

We have tried to manage to live in the above range for the past 7 months since landing. Will upgrade to an apartment soon as I have just landed on a job (after 8 months of struggle). But we are very happy with our current location which is very safe and easily accessible by TTC:)
