cost and how to pay

Hi everyone, I am back. I just wanted to know if I need to pay the $75 for Sponsorship Application (I am sponsoring my husband to come to Canada, and was told that I need to pay two fees - the $550 and $490 (as per our discussion here). I just got confused when I seen the other things on this page: https://eservices.cic.gc.ca/epay/order.do?category=9 Do I just check off those two, or is there anything else I am unaware of? Want to make sure we do things right. Thanks.

The $75 Sponsor Fee is included in the $550 fee ($75 + $475). The total for you to sponsor you husband is $1040.

To clarify, you will pay $75 for the Sponsor assessment, plus $475 for the Principle applicant, plus $490 for the RPRF (if paying it now).

The first two `total' up to $550, but make sure you choose the right items to pay for. The $550 fee on the page might be the fee for a Spouse or Common-Law partner fee, which is NOT what you want to choose (even though he is your husband). That fee would apply if he was being sponsored and was bringing his Spouse or Common-Law partner to also be sponsored, such as a person being sponsored by a different PR stream.

I didn't choose those. I chose the Spouse one for $550 and now it is done and paid for. When you said it totals to $1040 I assumed this was the correct thing to do and I chose those two (the $550 one and the $490 one). Now what? I got the receipt and everything now.

I called CIC and they said it is ok. As long as the total is $1040. I had asked if I had to pay the $75, when you didn't say yes and mentioned that it is included in the $550 fee, I just chose that one. Anyway, hopefully it will be fine. She told me not to worry at all, and that they only look at the total.

The $75 IS included in the fee of $550 to sponsor your husband, but it is NOT included if you chose the SCLP option when paying the fees...which is why I returned here to post my update for you, but apparently wasn't fast enough. My apologies, but I really don't think you have anything to worry about.

I'm more amazed that you were able to reach CIC so fast!

Yeah I totally did it wrong and instead chose the SCLP. At least she said it would be no problem at all. I hope she is right. She was friendly and seemed to know her stuff, so hopefully. Oh no worries and yes, we too were amazed to reach them so fast!

Be sure to check the CIC website the day that you plan to mail the application package, to see if they've updated any of their forms...which they do fairly often. If you submit a package with an outdated form, it's quite possible that everything will be sent back to you!

How do you know if the forms you are using is the most updated one??? Is there a place on the website that says when they've late been updated... sorry not computer savvy
