I don't understand your interpretation of the NOBTS1 email guys @crackMBA @butterflyins

From my understanding, the email says you will only be back to square one if you don't respond.

But if you respond, by choosing either option, then your application remains open.

If you choose option A they'll give you an AL and you must be ready to go at short notice.

If you choose option B you'll get a new COPR with a long (up to one year) validity period.

Do you disagree?

In terms of potential issues, I'm wondering:

1. What happens if your first COPR was issued pre-March 18. If you opt for option B and get a new COPR, do you still qualify as a pre-March 18 candidate exempted from the travel restrictions? Or do you now qualify as a post-March 18 COPR holder subjected to travel restrictions?

2. If you select option B and become subject to travel restrictions (i.e. u cannot travel to Canada even tho u got a valid COPR), will u need an AL on top of the new COPR? If so, option B is of no help. Unless they lift the restrictions this summer.

3. It seems that option B is better in terms of timeline, i.e. people have long term visibility and organize better. Is this option more risky than option !? Why?

4. Do you guys think soft landings will be permitted again upon lifting of the travel restrictions?

5. Is this new procedure applied by IRCC world wide, or only in certain VOs like ND? I depend on the Paris VO and so far I haven't heard of anything here.

This refers to previous correspondence regarding your application for permanent residence (PR) and your expired confirmation of PR document (CoPR) and PR visa.



COVID-19 Travel Restrictions:



Travel restrictions, COVID-19 testing requirements, and quarantine requirements are currently in effect to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus (COVID‑19) in Canada.

Re-Issuance of Permanent Resident Visa:



You previously informed us that you were still interested in travelling to Canada for non-discretionary reasons (i.e. to live and settle permanently in Canada).



As your original CoPR was issued on or before March 18, 2020, it appears that you currently qualify for an exemption from the travel restrictions, based on the information you have provided and the current rules in place.



We have also reviewed your situation and confirmed that it appears you (and your family members, if applicable) have done (a) new medical examination(s) since your original CoPR(s) expired. The new expiry date of your medical(s) is: 2021/11/20 07:00:00 PM



(If there is more than one date of expiry for you/any family members, the earliest date is provided above.)



Documentation to Facilitate Travel to Canada:



Please select one of the following two options:



Option 1: Confirm that you plan to travel to Canada before the validity date above. If you choose this option, you will be sent a request to submit your passport (which must be valid until at least the date above) to IRCC for physical reissuance of your CoPR (and your PR visa, if you are a citizen of a visa required country). Your CoPR will be annotated to indicate that it is a replacement for a document issued on or before March 18, 2020. If you select this option, you must use your re-issued CoPR and PR visa before the validity date printed on the new documents expires. If you do not use them before they expire, you will need to submit a new application if you want to immigrate to Canada in the future.



Option 2: Do another medical examination. If you select this option, you will be sent a request to do new medicals (at your own expense) within NINETY (90) calendar days. Your new medicals will be valid for 12 months from the date of your new examination. When we receive your updated medical results, we will assess whether any other information needs to be updated to re-issue your CoPR(s). If you (and your dependants, if applicable) continue to meet all statutory requirements, we will send you a request to submit your passport(s) for physical reissuance of your documents, which you will need to use before they expire.



Action required:



If you still intend to come to Canada to become a permanent resident, your action is required now.



You must reply to this message within ten (10) calendar days to tell us which option you choose.



In your response, you must also inform us if any of the following applies:

• Your family composition has changed (e.g. birth, marriage, divorce, death)
• Any material facts relevant to your application have changed for you and/or any of your accompanying or non-accompanying family members since the issuance of your original CoPR (e.g. marital status, new criminal charges or convictions, change in country of residence, change in custody arrangements for minor children, change in available settlement funds, etc.)
• You (or any of your family members, if applicable) have obtained a new passport since the issuance of your original immigrant visa (if yes, attach a scanned copy of the biodata page)
• You (or any of the family members on your application) are already physically in Canada.

If none of the above applies, you can write: “There have been no changes to any material facts relating to my application.”

This looks encouraging. I am also in travel exempt category and received copr on 15 mar.
I got remedical request on 10th Dec and completed it on 5th mar. Profile now shows medical is passed. Just few questions.
- I got a 4 point email also to which I didn't reply as I was not ready to travel. Did you also get it and did you reply?
- after doing the remed did you follow up or raised webforms or they contacted you themselves with above mail?

Just want to understand what should my next step be.

Is this the email that you received?

I'm talking about the email you referred to as the "now or back to square one" email in your previous post. I haven't received it myself but I'm trying to figure out the implications of this email being their new approach to handling expired COPRs. You seemed to say that from the email their new approach is it's either move to Canada now, or do the whole Express Entry process again. But that's not how I read it.

Has anyone recently received a passport submission request (PPR)? Could you kindly share how much time it took for the VFS payment link to get generated? It seems VFS has changed their process, and requires you to pay in advance, but they're taking forever to generate this link and we only have 30 days to submit the passport.

I received the PPR. Submitted the webform for Passport pickup on Saturday 6th March 2021. The notification said they should send an email with payment link within 48 business hours. No email received yet. VFS Mumbai.

Yes , I replied the 4 point email on October 2020, after Medical’s I raised web form multiple times

Just wanted to share this with everyone here (in case anyone has any suggestions or experiencing similar things):
It's been 9 days since I submitted the webform for passport pickup for re-stamping. However, the VFS payment link has still not come in. No idea what's happening :-(

Hey I'm in the same situation as you. Haven't heard back since I replied to the 4-pt email in Sept. My COPR expired in Aug 2020.

When I went in I noticed a change:
"We need additional documents to continue processing your application. We will send you a message with more details. "

However I havent received any messages till now.

Anyone with similar experience?

Hello All, looks like its normal for payment link email to be delayed at least by 8-10 days after submitting the webform. Will continue to wait. Can someone confirm these for me?
- Do we need to pack everything in an envelope our self or the pickup person gets one?
- What is the destination address to be added on the envelope?
- Do we need to put a second envelope inside the original one for the passport return after stamping?

(Do we get these details with the payment link or after payment?)

I did my remed on 5th Mar on 8th mar the status updated to you have passed medical exam.
Today I noticed that the status has changed to Your Action is required.
When I went in I noticed a change:
"We need additional documents to continue processing your application. We will send you a message with more details. "

However I havent received any messages till now.

Anyone with similar experience?
