I thought if someone goes for a re-med and gets almost 1 year of validity then that guy does not need a AL. Can travel anytime before expiration of COPR.

I think here when he/she mentioned new COPR he/she meant new counterfoil numbers updated in the profile, not a new CoPR (physical Hard Copy).

If that is the case,,,,they must travel before EXPIRATION DATE OF AL: 16-FEB-2021 .

@mandeepamitykca @crackMBA Correct me if I am wrong!

Yeah you may me right. Usually the expiration of COPR/counterfoil is 1 year after med. SO I thought that way. If re-med is done then validity should be 1 year. May be in Corona they are providing a window.
God knows

@legalfalcon if we select essential skill in ArriveCan it does not ask for quartine plan, but if you select foreign worker it ask, so which option we should select as we are approved COPR holders post 18th march 2020 case and have essential skill. That is the reason we are traveling, but we would like to do 14 days quartine and also my employer has asked that I should do 14 days quartine post-arrival.

You are not coming to Canada where you have a job in the health care sector and you have been granted exemption from the federal or Provincial health authorities.

So you will have to select foreign worker.

But are we exempted to travel if the COPR was issued post 18th march 2020,in my case 25th Nov, but my skill falls as essential skills and nominated by PNP under tech pilot program with a full-time permanent job offer, but I have not requested separate work permit for me and my family.

Hi,@legalfalcon ,
My COPR and PRV are expiring on 30th Jan 2021.

The place where I stay has gone into lockdown for two weeks(airport) and I feel that the lockdown may get extended due to the prevailing Covid Scenario.

Hence Should I raise a webform now stating that I may be unable to travel owing to to the present shut down of airport??

Waiting for your valuable suggestions...

There is no point in sending a webform now. Instead, when you are ready to travel or when you are exempt from travel, you can send a webform and request a new COPR or AL to travel.

Yes I have read this and my skill comes under Information and Communications, the question here is, are we exempted to travel, because I saw some people requesting separate work permit and traveling. I am going to work in an E-Commerce company for their IT department. If I read BC essential skill guidelines it covers that too.

If you fall under the category, then you can go ahead and select the option accordingly.

Not sure than what your question even was?

You can upload the documents only to your GC Key when VO requests for it by raising a Document Request.

Please raise the webform with remeds sheet and everything will be automatically done for your application i.e. transition from "Your Action is required" ->"Submitted"->"Approved". It might take sometime but it is gonna happen for sure.

Thanks for your input! Will do that right away then.

Shall I raise a generic web form or to my VO?

My copr expired on May 1st 2020.I received a mail after RTT saying I will be contacted soon.
From experience can anyone brief me with the steps
1.Will I receive remed request
2.What will be the validity of new copr
Both me and my husband rejoined jobs.I am tensed of the timeline if we have to resign soon.Any advice would help

Same thing happened to me and then I received a remed request!

I think what he was referring to is the questionnaire in arrivecan app.
Once we select 'Entry by Air' it then asks if you are travel exempt? If yes it will ask the type of exempt travel:
Cross-border, essential services, medical support, trade or transport services - followed by flight info.

If we select No to exempt travel then it asks purpose of travel:
Family reunification, foreign worker(who holds valid work permit or who is exempt from requirement of work permit),study, compassionate grounds, non of the above.

So for a post march 2020 copr holder with valid job offer, which is the right way to go ahead.

hey, as far as i know essential skills although it mentions IT and communications in their website. Considering the current scenario , essential services include truck drivers, doctors,Nurses and other front line workers. My friend landed in canada too, he didn't quarantine because he is a physician and was hired for Covid duty hence he was exempted. You can land canada as long as you have a quarantine plan,an employment letter.

Congratulations on your AL!!

Thanks for the details. Did you also receive similar questionnaire?

Not sure which questionnaire you are referring to but I did receive an email from IRCC asking me if I am able to travel before 31 Jan 2021. They gave me a response form to fill and reply on that email.
