I would recommend you don’t ask for the extension of COPR.if you can travel before 21st feb.Do it because many people like me are waiting for the extension of COPR For more than 6 months. We have raised Web forms multiple times. Now,ircc has stopped accepting WEB FORMS for the extension of COPR or RTT.
Basically, I am ready to travel since mid-November 2020. I have sent a RTT webform and got only a generic answer at this time.
I am ready to travel next week if they authorize me to do so but because I don't see any way of improvement that is why I thought I should be pro active so I can save some time.
I have my wife and 5 kids so it is really risky to travel without a pre approval. If I would be only with 1 kid I would have tried but it is so much logisitic.
My agent advise me aswell to wait till 21st feb.

Dear All,

I received my CoPR on 21stOct 2020 and it is valid till 21st Feb.
As the restrictions have been extended, I am thinking of requesting an extension of my CoPR.
My local VO is Abu Dhabi.
Should I write them directly or should I raise a webform through my GC account?
Usually how long does it take to receive the new CoPR ?

Thanks
TBH, you are asking the questions that no one can answer. The timelines for CoPR extension depends upon CoVID situation, your VO and numerous other factors. The process of your CoPR extension is eligible after your current CoPR expiry. If your VO is flexible enough then you can ask for CoPR extension now by contacting them over the email or webform. Good luck!

Thanks @crackMBA and @Armank90!

If I cant get the SIN at the airport, will I be able to apply online? Here - https://www.canada.ca/en/employment-social-development/services/sin/apply.html
How can I get the OHIP card without any delays (I have a pregnant wife and keen to get medical care)?
Some people are saying that OHIP is covering everything from day1 but I am not sure, check online. I would suggest to buy an insurance at least for your wife as OHIP does not cover everything such as dental, eye, physio etc. I am not sure how all these may be important during pregnancy.

Do not apply SIN online. It is taking to much time. Go to service Canada after your quarantine is done. They will give you in 10-15 min.

Hi,
i just called IRCC they mentioned the AL was sent on the same day the COPR got updated i.e. on 20th Jan 2021. They mentioned they will write a note to resend it, has anyone else faced this? If yes, what is the way forward? I have checked all my folders spam/trash etc.

Yeah, same response I got when I called for raising a concern regarding AL not received.

BTW I got my new counterfoil updated on GC key on 7 January and so far I haven't received the AL that too after numerous follow ups and webforms!

Can you please tell us when is your new COPR are going to expire?

Hi,
Congratulations for an AL. Can you please tell me what is this new AL. Is it something different?
Sorry if you have explained before and I missed it.

Thanks
Hey. Thankyou and pardon me for the confusion. I actually meant just "AL" and wrote "new" to draw a differentiation between the expired COPR/visa and the Authorization letter (my bad).
I have booked a ticket with Air india and just checking if anyone here can share their experience with them, carrying expired COPR and Authorisation letter (email)?

I do not think the visitor visa will come into play here. This is what IRCC says:

If you are from a visa-required country, a permanent resident visa will automatically be issued in your passport for your travel to Canada.
In both cases, make sure you travel to Canada with your valid passport and your valid Confirmation of Permanent Residence document.

Do you have a PR visa in your passport?

Progress bar disappeared again. That is happening frequently in the last 2 weeks. I am wondering if they are working on upgrading the website or it is just system glitch.

After getting couple of ghost updates, I have finally received an email from IRCC requesting for information.

I would, therefore, appreciate it if members who had previously received the 4 pointer email can advise me what information they provided for the below point:-

"Proof of an acceptable plan to settle: documents to support your intended living situation in Canada (address, lease agreement, home ownership document), employment plans in Canada (location of work, letter from employer) or any other relevant information"

I plan to stay at an Airbnb, and regarding job, obviously I don't have it.
