An example of a Travel Authorization Letter

Must travel by: October 03, 2020

You must travel with a copy of this letter and with your passport as proof of your authorization to travel to Canada.

On March 18, 2020, the Government of Canada announced travel restrictions to Canada to reduce the spread of Covid-19 and protect the health and safety of Canadians.

Your application for permanent residence was approved on 2019/07/03 and you have received a confirmation of permanent residence (CRP). If you are from a country subject to visa requirements for travel to Canada, you have also received a permanent residence visa sticker in your passport.

As your application for permanent residence has been approved on or before March 18, 2020, you are exempt from travel restrictions.

As your CRP and Permanent Residence Visa (VRP) expire on 2020/06/03, we have extended their validity until 2020/10/31.

We do not currently print or mail new CRPs and VRPs. To travel to Canada, you will need to:

~ bring this letter, along with your original CRP and VRP.
~ show it to the airline agent as proof that you are exempt from the travel restriction and that your new CRP and VRP are valid.
~ use this letter before October 03, 2020
~ make sure you can transit or will travel through other countries with your suggested flight route.

Please note that you must also have a valid passport to travel to Canada, and that you will need to show this letter to a Canada Border Services Agency officer when you arrive in Canada.

If you are unable to travel by the expiration date of this letter, on October 03, 2020 IRCC will leave your application for permanent residence open and you will have to go through the CRP and VRP issuance process again. when you are able to travel to Canada.

You must follow the public health measures below if you plan to travel to Canada:

~ If you are traveling by air, you will need to have a medical check-up before you are allowed to board your flight and wear a non-medical mask or face cover during the trip (including where you will be. in quarantine). Anyone showing symptoms of COVID-19 will not be allowed to travel to Canada. If you know you are sick, put off your travel plans until you feel well.

~ When you arrive in Canada, you will need to quarantine (self-isolate) for 14 days and watch for symptoms. You will need to have a plan for how you will quarantine yourself for 14 days when you arrive in Canada and where you will get medical treatment if you become ill.

~ During your quarantine, you will not be able to leave your accommodation for any reason. If you don't have a quarantine plan, which includes how you will purchase groceries and access other essential services, please create one first before traveling. The Government of Canada does not pay for accommodation costs once you are in the country.

~ Your compliance with this decree may be subject to monitoring, auditing, and enforcement action. Those who fail to comply could be held in a quarantine facility, fined or imprisoned.

s your application for permanent residence has been approved on or before March 18, 2020, you are exempt from travel restrictions.

guys plz answer me??
all copr exaired are excempted from travel restrictions?? becouse as per the ircc anoucmrnt earlier this month they said only the copr expaired with the non discretionary reason are excemted from travel restrictions.

Group 3: Expired COPR and PRV and travelling from any other country other than the U.S.

Applicants for permanent residence who are in possession of an expired COPR and PRV and who are ready to travel to Canada are asked to contact Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) using a Web form. Applicants are asked to provide the expiry date of the COPR and the non-discretionary reason(s) for their travel.

After the web forms are received, applicants will be directed to the appropriate processing network and will be evaluated according to the following eligibility criteria:

documents to support proof of an acceptable plan to settle in Canada;
proof of an acceptable plan to quarantine; and their

proposed travel itinerary.

finally air bubble with Canada.
"Ministry of Civil Aviation has confirmed that air travellers holding valid visa of all kind are allowed to travel to US, UK, Canada and UAE under the bilateral Air Bubble agreement with these countries, easing the travel for all type of Visa holders including tourist, business, student and transit visas. "

https://www.news18.com/news/auto/tourists-can-now-fly-to-the-us-uk-canada-uae-under-air-bubble-agreement-all-visas-allowed-2779149.html
I doubt this could be true. Air bubbles are generally formed with low risk neighbouring countries (Aus/NZ and few bubbles in Europe) while India unfortunately is reporting the highest daily infections at the moment so maybe its a bit too early to have air bubbles with countries like UK and Canada.

Did you land recently? If so, how did the experience go? What questions were you asked?
I landed about 2 months back. The process is fairly simple they just asked about funds that i am carrying in cash and some details about your quarantine address such as duration of booking.

As far as I know, you do not need to use the app:

https://www.canada.ca/en/public-health/services/diseases/2019-novel-coronavirus-infection/latest-travel-health-advice.html#ua

I used the paper form, they give you one on the plane. Entered in quarantine address and all accurate info except, on the paper form it has a list of travel exemptions incl. emergency service worker etc. It doesn't have an option for copr/settling/permanent resident etc so I did not circle any of the options (as non were accurate). This gets handed in at the airport, it doesn't get looked at while you are at the airport.

So, I believe, answers to 2 & 3 would be no and nothing, no. Except for being reachable / available if they do want to check up on you. I have been here approx 1 week and no contact as yet.

Not sure about the virtual number thing.
Thanks for replying.

Hope you are out of quarantine and safe!

Anything you would like to give advice on having gone through quarantine yourself? It could be minor.

Still in quarantine! not long to go now. Not really - make sure the place you are in has a decent wifi connection - the place I am in doesn't which is a bit irritating. Maybe best to check the food deliveries too if you are using those. There are a lot of option, it can be quite confusing. If you like a glass of wine etc in the evening, I would recommend Grocery Gateway as you can get everything in one stop, the delivery charges aren't as bad as some, they have been pretty good - plus they accept a non-Canadian credit card which another one I tried, Inabuggy I think, did not.

Ohh. okay got it. kavita if you dont mind can we share each others email or contact numbers in our personal chat ? so we can be in more sync with this process of our VO. Even @Dejavu_44 ???
@Kavitaforpt @Dejavu_44 @Neha_khedekar

Similar chain for my Mom's application! Mom needs to move here permanently.

IRCC asked to submit proof and clarifying note about temporary visits for landing purposes is discouraged.

Back in July had submitted screeshots of airline one way ticket 'credits', plus my local Mississauga utility bills, detailed plans for isolated separate room, bathroom and 2 weeks of nil physical interface. Highlighted this is a permanent move to Canada.

NDVO response was a generic one - we will resume operations once full commercial flights restore (not exact verbiage but words to effect).

Options I have is to treat this as NDVO error. Call the contact centre. And / or write again - web form.

Won't mind connecting. For messages to individuals, Neha -you can click on the member's name and then click on the icon " start conversation" (top right). On the next screen you can address that single note to multiple members. Simply type in the first few characters and select from the pop up list.

it expires in September.
You might receive an email from IRCC for your PR status confirmation maybe close your CoPR expiring date. Please check your spam folder also to confirm if you might have already received the email. If not then wait or call IRCC as you are already in Canada.

Hi @hinavin

Did you receive the exact line from NDVO "we will resume operations once full commercial flights restore"? Did they mention about commercial flights? Even my wife's application processing center is Vancouver but Visa was stamped from NDVO.

Not actually - the words were different for sure. Let me fish the letter out and I can share. Shall do after work today!

My impression (guess only) overall is that CPC Mississauga - i.e. IRCC Canada, has given an approval to renew/extend CoPR. Then asked NDVO to 'process and facilitate' the last bit needed to facilitate travel.

But - NDVOin my case has either:
  • Hastily responded in error with a stock letter template, just to close the email string from their end, or
  • they simply are not yet ready commence any steps related to CoPR renewals/extensions.
    • Neither ETA
    • nor physical stamping or
    • even sending a fresh CoPR with letter authorising the travel to Land.

Lemme share the email text, tonite @crackMBA

Hi Folks,

Just trying to get my head around the overall movement on CoPR extensions.

Has anyone heard of a CoPR being extended/renewed for travelers from India? I.e. NDVO ?

I know of only the Phillipines and also another from Europe etc

Grateful for a quick share!

When I raised "unable to travel" form back in May I received similar generic response that "they have forwarded my request to the responsible office". After 2-3 days I received a response from my Visa processing Unit(Vancouver).

You must also receive something. Wait for some time.
Thanks for your reply. I actually have filled the "read to travel" from now for extension (COPR expired on 9th may) and the response that i quoted above was to my ready to travel webform.
I see now that the guidelines have been modified and we have to share a proper plan. I am just drafting that now and planning to submit another form. I am not sure how i will show a lease agreement, or flight tickets. I want to know if anyone from india got a positive response, if not extension!?
And also what is everyone doing and planning for flights? I dont want to buy a ticket again as it doesnt make sense, n i still have not received refund of my other 2 tickets.
And if anyone has booked a ticket during this vande bharat mission from del to toronto? What was the routing/price and which airlines? Any detail around this will be helpful.

Thankyou.
