Waiting on CoPR extension-

Hi Guys,
I was able to speak to an agent today regarding CoPR extension.

My CoPR has expired on April 24th. Raised two webforms- one before expiry saying unable to travel, one on May 22nd saying ready to travel.
I have received response on the respective webforms. Last Monday (06/15), I have received a message in my portal saying IRCC has received my request of extension and asked me to let them know when I am ready to travel to process the CoPR extension. Maybe due to backlog in the webforms, it took a while to get the update in portal.
Anyway, I was able to talk with a call center agent today after long wait of about 30 mins. I wanted to check if they have received my ready to travel webform and if there is any progress. The agent put me on hold while checking with a system specialist (according to the agent, the system specialist has the most updated information) and said that they have received my ready to travel webform, but there isn't any clear instruction about how to process the CoPR extension to the visa offices. So we have to wait until they receive clear instructions/green light to process the extension. I was asking if they have any information whether we need to send our passport upon approval of the extension. The agent said they don't have any information regarding this also. She has also mentioned that according to her knowledge--none has received CoPR extension so far.

Later, I have asked about the validity of my medical, criminality and security (if there is an expiry date as well). She said both criminality and security is showing pass only and the validity on my medical is 7th April 2021.

Just wanted to share the timeline and information with you guys. At this point, we all have to wait until further instruction comes from IRCC, I guess!
Initially they were going to extend for 3-6 months but they are probably starting to realize the time may not be feasible with lockdowns still in place in most countries so a one year extension is the more likely scenario at this point. Thing is even if they extend for 3-6-12 months they still can't expect someone to travel with the risks not completely mitigated so it will be interesting to see how they will deal with the application of a 70 year old with underlying health conditions before a vaccine becomes available.

Anyone else like me who have done soft landing already but moving has been impacted due to the pandemic? When are you thinking of moving now? I am thinking fall if international flights become regular

Depends on the economy. The current rate of unemployment is 13.7%. IMHO it is not a good idea to move if jobs are scarce. Early 2021 seems more reasonable.

Hello, I'm interested that you got CoPR on June 12 and you are from outland? I didn't know they are issuing CoPR to outlanders.

Nope. The information hasn't updated in the account.
That is great news if they actually extended the medical validity by a year. Hope that is the case for everyone.

Any idea why this is not showing on your account? Was the agent confident that the results were extended?

True, The situation is still volatile. All it needs is just one case to trigger another round of spreading unless there is vaccine available or people obtain hard immunity.

I hope they extend the medical by a year for everyone. My account still shows the application in approved status, showing all the information leading to expired CoPR. I guess once the application gets re-opened/ in progress; it might reflect the updated information.

The agent was confident. In-fact, she verified the information on file before disclosing the information for dependents.
