Why would they require police certificate and security checks again when they had already approved your case? The only document that will be reassessed will be your medicals.

"Identified applications with an original M1 or M3 decision will be proactively reassessed for an additional 6 months. "

If you fall under one of these two categories you will be extendedd.

M1 - No public health risk or danger, no public safety danger and no excessive demand
M3 - A health condition(s) is present but is not expected to place an excessive demand on health or social services.

Would appreciate your's and everybody's views on my last post regarding this.

IRCC states "The Migration Health Branch will continuously identify all applications where the applicant is residing abroad and their medical results will expire in the coming 4 to 8 weeks"

• Does this mean medicals expiring within the next two months?
• Medicals expiring after 4 weeks and before 8 weeks?

My medical expires on May 12. Would I be eligible?

I have no idea mine expires in May 12 as well ...need and answer too

Would be a kind of relief...... we all waited so long for the whole process and now the pandemic is making it longer

We are all already 99% Canadian PRs. It's an unfortunate situation to be in. Don't worry we will all be in Canada next year at this time

IRCC is simply instructing visa offices to to consider that most applicants with visas that are expiring in the next few weeks will not be able to travel. When identified (mostly through web forms), those approved PR visas can be extended for an additional 6 months without the need for another medical exam or police certificates.

If medicals are done again then I believe new CoPR would have validity of 1 year.

Farah, I have a question with reference to what you discussed about your cousin who travelled without any problem.

Travel agents here are saying that only Canadian citizens are allowed on the flight. Is it really the case? Did you guys use any reference?

Yes 6 months from expiry of current medical. Flights will likely resume by September but if not then my guess new medicals will be required unless IRCC decides to amend the 6 months in the operational guidelines

Looks like most international flights will start regular services in India from June 1st.

I spoke with a CBSA Windsor Boarder Agent and she explained me that untill April 15 all the travel exemptions provided by IRCC were valid. On April 15, when Quarantine act came into force, it superseded the IRCC travel exemptions and all immigration services were stopped at land and airport boarders. Now if there is anyone who crossed land boarder or airport after April 15 can help us understand if CBSA's explanation is correct or not.

Thank you for the update. I am also waiting for someone who traveled from US recently to update us. I was planning to travel around May-15, but I will wait for someone to comment before booking final tickets.
