Hello,

Please I have a question and would appreciate feedback from anyone who has clarity on it, or experience.

In recent times, are Primary applicants still allowed to land before secondary applicants?

Do note that as at last year, IRCC advised family's to try to land together.

Thank you to in anticipation.

Hi, can you please share are you copr pre march 2020 or post. TIA

My CoPR issued in Aug. 2019, expired in July 2020. Before expiry I informed IRCC that I m unable to travel due to pandemic. They replied that ur file will remain open till travel restrictions end or u inform us about ur readiness to travel.

In Sep 2021 IRCC again sent me email that if you are ready to travel within 60 days you should send us your consent within 10 days AND if you don't reply we will keep your file open till travel restrictions pause or you inform us about your readiness to travel.

I didn't reply.

BUT NOW ON 8April2020 IRCC sent me email stating, ur file was closed, if u r still interested to immigrate reply us within 10 days. If we don't receive any reply from you, your file will be permanently closed. And If we receive ur reply we will re-open and re-assess ur file. We will check your eligibility. You will be required to submite new medicals and may need to submit any additional documents (ADR). and will issue u new PR Visa.

I replied them on that I m ready.
They have updated/changed my application status from Approved to IN PROCESS in my GC Account. There's also mentioned
-We r reviewing ur eligibility
-We r reviewing ur background check.

It's my story. I am afraid why they are again re-assessing my case when they mentioned that ur file will remain Open?

Could any other group member with Expired CoPR faced the same situation ? Could others share their stories please ?

Respected group members, could you give your comments and opinion that what documents they may ask me to submit ?

Sent the response same day I received it.
You could call them up to double check your case

I also sent the response same day and received the email of Acknowledgement on the same day.

Pls be sure that don't reply to the incoming email. They have given an email address inside the email. you must send your reply on that address.

I just went through the last 5-6 pages of this thread. I wasn't caught up and it seems that a lot of people have been getting this update and they are getting re-medical request after a day or two of this update.
Let's keep our fingers crossed and hope for the best.

Age and IELTS is frozen during R10 completeness check..

High chances - they'll ask for medicals if yours have expired or are about to expire.. maybe PCC (haven't read about anyone getting request for PCC)

In extremely rare cases, proof of funds..

But hey this is my opinion.. others or your VO may be have different opinion based on ur file.

I can't tell you for sure, but:

You are correct that as per IRCC's own former communications, your file should not have been closed. if you have to litigate your case, it shouldn't be difficult for a lawyer to overturn the closing of your file. but you'll probably never have to litigate it (see below).

I think the last email you received, where they state that your file will be permanently closed but can be reopened and reassessed if you reply within 10 days, is the latest standard email they send to people with expired CoPR. Most probably they changed their guidelines and wordings and some folks like you end up received contradictory emails. I myself received an email in July 2020 stating that my file would remain open if I am unwilling or unable to travel due to COVID. That was after I sent them a "not ready to travel" email as my COPR was expiring in August.

No one really knows what they mean by "reassessing" cases but my understanding is that they are talking about background check/police certificates and the medical visit.

Hi there.. I was also pre March copr holder and it got expired in July 2020. I sent them email in June that I won't be able to fly due to the pandemic. Now that I am able to fly and have raised couple of web forms but I didn't get any thing other than generic reply that they have forwarded my request to responsible person. I am just waiting for any kind of updates from IRCC.

same here

They are call center people its not as simple as resending an email.

Try emailing your VO. That can help.

Also, this appears to be a technical issue. There is an email somewhere for technical issues. You can try emailing on that.

Before all of above, can you try opening your account in Incognito/private browsing or clear cache cookies etc. and then try opening the document?
Thank you! I will try to do that..

  • They are re-assessing for all expired CoPRs, so don't worry - your file will remain open. They are making their way through the backlogs now.
  • My CoPR expired in June 2020, and I received my pre-March 18 2020. I've had almost the same sequence of events and I'll be doing my medicals tomorrows.
  • So no need to panic, in all likelihood it's only the medicals that they ask. In other cases, they may ask for a new PC - no other documents are looked at again at this stage.

I received the "“still want to migrate“ mail on March 29. Responded with details the same day. I haven't heard anything yet. No updates to my profile either. My COPR was issued pre march 18 and expired in June 2020.

Is anyone else also waiting to hear back? Should i raise a webform? What's the normal wait time after sending the email?

Same situation with me. But my profile got updated over the weekend and now it says in progress instead to approved. Haven't received remed request till now though.

Same situation as you. Ready to go now but no response from IRCC. They're trying to force us redo medical and re-issue COPR, but that will takes too long long processing time.

I just hope and PRAY that IRCC sends the remed request soon and then issues the PPR within 2-3 weeks from the remed date. They should not keep us in a perpetual state of limbo indefinitely. Fingers crossed. :)
