Controlled Epilepsy - Will I Fail the Medical Exam?

My epilepsy requires daily medication to control. I have no problems with the epilepsy and work/live a normal life though I do see a neurologist every six months. Might this cause me to fail to med exam?

You'll need to tell us who is sponsoring you. If it's spousal sponsorship - you can't be refused for medical reasons. Different if you're being sponsored by a child.

Wrong - excessive demand does not apply to spousal sponsorships.

Don't worry about it - you will not be excluded because of epilepsy. A spouse is exempt from the excessive demand qualification, and epilepsy is not a danger to public health or safety.

OP's situation is not applicable to you. He is being sponsored as a spouse and is therefore Excessive Demand Exempt, so epilepsy is not an issue.

You are an EE applicant, therefore you and your family members are not Excessive Demand Exempt, so epilepsy could be an issue depending on the severity.

As already explained, OP is Excessive Demand Exempt, so epilepsy would not be a reason to fail.

If you are being sponsored by your spouse, it isn't an issue.

If you are an economic immigrant, it may be an issue and you should post your future queries to the EE or Skilled Worker section of the forum.

Regardless, it must be declared. Not doing so is misrepresentation, which can result in your app being refused and you being banned fom Canada.

Hi

I am in the same issue now. I had it in 2010 and nothing after that. Infact I am not in medication as well.

I declared this to my Panel Physician as well as i don't want to misrepresent as well.

Will this have an impact?
