Dear Qorax very informative and interesting thread from your side and you like a evry honest guy I am browsing through these threads every day but there is technical question and nobody is sure about it and I think it needs some research and about which I am sure that I cannot do it and dilemma is facing all of the applicants who applied to CIO in the month of June. The question is:
My application was received on the 21st of June by CIO but after I sent the application I realized that I made mistakes with the following

1. I wrote Islamabad instead of London in the specific visa office box which they had changed it recently in April but I never saw anything on their website about this change.

2. On my parents passport they do not have family names so only wrote the given names and left the family box empty "I should have wrote N/A".

3. On the dependent form I forgot to fill the "Eye Color" boxes blank.

4. In the Representative address column I left it blank instead I should have written "N/A".

These are the mistakes I made and probably they will return my application, if they return my application there can be two scenarios of their statements with the words (a) "Your application is rejected for the above mistakes" (b) "Your application is returned for the above mistakes and if want to resubmit the new application with corrections you can do it".
So what are my chances of the lock-in date with the CIO or it will be a fresh application after the June 26th changes.
Hi,

That was sad. As u r already aware, u should have done those in your 1-4 points. The problem is, when CIO returns your apps package, they'd also send a letter stating that "We do not keep any Record of this Process". Thus, technically, u do not have the liberty of a Lock-In Date. So, your re-filing will be viewed as a fresh case, under the present rules.

I wish I'm wrong and it's not like that.... And your 2nd submission gets approved.

Good luck!

Thank you qorax but I am posting this which I got it from a lawyer I dont know the "client number" its not a file number but can you interpret the below

"The new application will be considered under the new rule.
I had cases where CIO returned the application with a client number attached to it, in this case, CIO will "quote the date it was received". If the date was prior to June 26, 2010, then it will processed according to the old rules.

So, if you were give a client number, and you submitted your file before June 26, 2010, and CIC quoted this date clearly, chances are you will be dealt with according to the old rules. If not, then you have to check if your occupation was dropped off the list, it it did, I would recommend finding other options to immigrate to Canada."

That No. u r referring is the File No. (B........), which u get with the AOR. If u get the AOR, there's no problem... u can amend the forms & resend.

U apply as per your current family status. Once the newborn joins u, file in the Addnl Family Member form & pay the Extra Processing Fees.

Congrats for your forthcoming little bundle of joy!

Thanx Ma'am!

hello qorax
please reply to my query.

i have sent my full documents to CHC on 1 july 2010 under 4131.
my occupation is English lecturer.
i have secured
L-6.5
R-7
W-6.5
S-6.5 and claimed 14 points for Ielts.
My total points are 75.
My doubt is i scored moderate in listening.
will it be a "?" mark for Vo.
seeing some posts in the forum being rejected for IELTS, please
advise me of my scores for the category 4131.
will the vo have any reservation to grant a visa for a applicant who is having moderate score in Listening?
or will he see the overall eligiblity of an applicant.
Being a lecturer myself I am worried having secured moderate in listening.
will the Vo grant me visa?

i am reading ur threads. it is ecellent and informative.
can u please answer for this also?

i have sent my full documents to CHC on 1 july .
today is 14 th july.
when i see my E-cas it shows nothing apart from the intimation of 1 st AOR.

if the documents are received whether it is also updated in the E-Cas status?
or only when 2 nd AOR is sent there is a change in the status of E-cas status.
how long it will take for E-cas to change.

regards
mohan

The e-cas is not speedily updated as per your case progress. It's done by the MIS dept, which is a separate entity. So, it's not a wise method of assessing our real-time case processing. It only provides a general idea@a broader timeframe.
