Just wondering if anybody knew the cheapest way to get help with getting the paperwork together and orginizing all of the proof of relationship. We have a son together and its proving difficult to get everything together so I'm looking to find somebody that can help that wont cost a lot.

You are the best person who can do this. Going to a lawyer will not reduce ur work but only cost u more money and lawyers are known for goofing up. You still have to fill all ur forms and review it. Gathering Proof of relationship is all ur work .. Pulling proof from emails , chats , Skype and getting together pics is something u have to do. It can be overwhelming. But do a bit each day.

Why not get the documents together as best you can and pay a lawyer to review them to make sure they are all in order before sending them in? That way you have the benefit of a second pair of eyes and some advice without paying a lot to have someone else to manage the process for you.

That's all a consultant or lawyer is going to do anyway. Review it once all put together by yes . . . You!

There's no better lawyer than you.
The best consultant is this forum. And it's free.

I have to agree, break it down into chunks. Work on one section each such as collecting.

Pictures
Emails
Messages
Lease
Tickets/ reservations etc.

It actually wont take too long and you don't need to send a huge stack of proof, just enough to show a genuine and continuing relationship

with all due respect, I couldn't disagree with you more.

I have seen many incorrect posts. Everything you hear and read should be verified.

By who? CIC.....A lawyer?! I have read just as many posts of people who hired both lawyers and consultants who made monumental mistakes in their application. I don't think there is any merit in hiring a lawyer or consultant unless you have some specific concerns with your application such as a conviction or maybe language barriers etc. CIC are just as bad given the amount of terrible advice their call centre gives out. At the end of the day there is enough information out there for people to do their own research, and in my opinion complete the application themselves. Even CIC stated on their own forms that people should be able to complete an application themselves!

Some have actually been right out rejects for those apps. I can't remember but one might have even been barred for misrepresentation (this might have been on canlii)
