Consultant Fraud - Feeling Stupid...

Dear all,

I have hired a consultant and as I research throught this forum I began to believe that I have made a terrible mistake that costed me a fortune.

I indeed did some research before I agreed on hiring him. He is an active member of ICRCC. If we cannot trust this organization how anybody can find the right represantative? His webpages, Linkedin profile and many other consulting memberships seemed legit.

My fiancee is a native English speaker and therefore I am in search of immigration options to an English speaking country. I found his website and arranged a meeting with him about our chances for Canada. During our first interview he explained about the Express Entry in detail. He seemed very knowledgebale. He talked very positive and told us exactly what we wanted to hear. When we came home that day we started to look for house rentals and car prices in Canada... He was that convincing.

- He said if we only apply to Express Entry we would have about 60-70% of chance to get our PR. However he suggested that we use his recruiting services too. That way we would get positive LMIA (he said it would be easier for me because of my degree from the US) and he can almost guarantee our PR card in 6 months. This would also provide me with a readily arranged job when it is time to land. Now after spending so much time here in this forum this even may be an illegal move.

- He said his partner recruitmet company in Toronto will send me a couple job options for me to choose from. During our meeting I asked him if this was a legal way to go. He said yes, because the recruitment company would be my employer. He mentioned this way of working through recruiters is very popular in Canada.

- He mentioned that me and my fiancee did not need to be married at the time of application. However he would need us to get married after we recieve ITA. That way we could include her in the application.

- He submitted my EE profile without waiting for my IELTS results and WES evaluation. To do so he entered imaginary IELTS report number and he filled out the Education part as if I have a canadian degree or diploma although I have never studied in Canada. I think he did this to ask for the remaining half of the Money saying that my profile is complete but he needs the rest of the Money to submit the application.

- I have sent him my IELTS results about 3 weeks ago to him. He has not updated since then and my profile still has the fake results.

- About 2 months ago I have sent him 350CAD for WES evaluation upon his request. There still is no report yet. Is this wait normal?

Now, I am very scared that what he has done about my profile may be considered as misinforming CIC about my IELTS and Education info. Will I somehow get a 5 year ban?

I started to feel very stupid to get tricked like this so easily. Especially as I keep reading this forum...

I paid very large amount of money for this consultation and so far all he has done is to fill out an EE profile for me with misleading data in it. I could have filed it correctly on my own for free.

That's terrible! Unfortunately few consultants exploit such opportunities to make aome quick bucks! I suggest you speak with someone senior at the consultancy agency. In my opinion you should ask the agency to delete your current profile and create a new one. WES evaluation takes 4-6 weeks, but the consultant should provide you the reference number, or WES account credentials for you to check the status online. When you create a WES profile and you apply for degree evaluation, you can see the status online, if your documents have been received, or if assessment is completed. Did the consultant requested for degree transcripts?

Stories like these are the reason why CIC is changing the LMIA concept and reducing its importance in CRS.

there are many more like you especially from India with huge population (and Punjabis dying to move to Canada at any cost). Sorry to be blunt.

Do the following
> Ask you consultant for WES reference number and login credentials
> Ask him for EE profile login details

If he doesn't give any, seek legal action. You may be in for trouble later in Canada if things were fake and at that time, your consultant would not be around. Better be safe than sorry.

wow thats a crazy story... if you are in the right country you should sue him.
what i would do first and foremost is get the login details of your EE profile and then withdraw and delete the application, and start afresh... i'm trying to think if there was any irreversible damage that could have happened so far (apart from you losing a fortune), nothing comes to my mind so far... the only way i can think of is if by entering incorrect details he managed to get an ITA for you, and accepted it... that could be the only thing...

regarding WES, it usually takes about 3 weeks for you to get result AFTER the documnets have been recd in canada, but again WES has login credentials so i would get those from him as well...

dont lose hope yet, like i said apart from losing time and money and patience i dnt think you have lost anything else...

Hey dude - sorry about this happening to you.

In all honesty you don't need to go through a consultancy - the whole process is rather straight foreward.

I agree with others and that you get the log in details and withdraw your current EE profile.

I would then follow up with a) sueing them and b) reporting them to CIC asap C) reporting them to their company.

Nothing they did (fake results) was legal and if you had been granted an ITA and he had followed up on it and submitted your profile you could have been banned from Canada for 5 years for misrepresentation.

I'll give you a hand (and I'm sure many people here will) in explaining how to complete your EE profile on your own.

I already have my EE profile access and from there I can follow his process. From there I can see that my IELTS results are still not corrected eventhough I sent the report to him about three weeks ago.

I called them and asked for my WES reference number. I will see if they send it to me today.

Do you think filing a complaint to ICCRC would be wise? I read some about it and they seem like not caring much about complaints...

Send them a complaint and a threat to sue and report them to CIC about them putting fake scores in.

While you're in your EE profile, update your EE scores yourself now.

1st, change your EE password so that the fraud will not get access to it.
update your EE as per your IELTS, Education and Job Experience.
continuously ask them for WES report and collect it from them asap.


Sorry to say, it will be very tough to refund the money u hav paid to those frauds.

jst dont loose the hope and make a new start. if u can gain 480+ crs, thn wait for EE otherwise go for PNP.

He's already proven himself to be a fraud.

You need to take control of this and change these details. Everything he said about guaranteeing you in 6 months is a lie.

Even if they get you a job offer with an LMIA THAT takes 4 weeks of advertising, they have to prove they have searched for a Canadian and the LMIA processing time is about a month.

Then you have the draw to wait for (about 2 weeks if you have a positive LMIA) and then 2 months to submit the paperwork. Then the processing time is anything from 4 months to a year.

He's lieing to you and you need to take control of this now.

I agree with all the previous advices,wait till you have your wes report,make sure you have it before the next draw,then change your ee profile login credntials,and update your ee profile with your new details,it seems that the consultant is aware that you wont be having an ita with your current scores that he entered and that he just wanted to create the ee profile just to claim his money from you...i am sure that the scores he entered are very low to grant you an invitation through express entry

He entered 6.5 in all parts of the exam.

I will do as what is advised.. I only want to know if they really applied for WES report and if I can get a hold of it before I let them go.

That proves my theory then with 6.5 in all you aint getting a nice score at all so he just created the ee profile to claim his money and just show that he is doing some work,try to get your wes report asap if not just change the ee login details and apply for wes again
