Hi everyone,

I had already enrolled for a consultant before I stumbled upon this informative forum.

I received ITA on October 2nd. When will I be required for a medical?

My consultant says that CIC will send a form for medical having the IMM number. Does it not come along/after the ITA?

I'm worried that my consultant is very slow and I have to travel for weeks due to work requirements and I do not want to delay the medical as getting an appointment is a task.

Can the seniors shed some light on how to approach the medical dilemma?

Please please need some advice.

That's not true. You have to do an upfront medicals before you can submit your application.

Check the link below for more information:

Thanks Dupsy21

So what you are essentially saying is that I should get an upfront medical and complete my application within 60 days rather than wait for any medical form ?

That is correct. You have to submit your medicals with your application. If not, your application will be refused.

- A medical form would not be sent to you, that was the old process. Go to a panel physician and ask for an upfront medical. After completing the medical exams you'll be given a form to upload to mycic.
- Fire your consultant! If he doesn't know the new rules regarding EE medicals then what else is he unaware of?

I wanted to fire him as he lied to me regarding I not receiving the ITA at first.

The problem is that he does not give me the MyCIC login credentials as he says he uses the same credential (GC key) for all his clients.

This is really frustrating for me as several times I asked him if I should get a medical done and he said no, I'll give you the form having the IMM number and blah blah

Thank you Anya and dupsy!

Hello Addie.9,

On CIC website, search for CIC panel physicians. Select your country and you'll see the contact details for those in your country. Make an appointment or if they take walk in, do so. Take a copy of your ITA, your passport, the required fees and anything else the physician asks you to bring. After the consultation, the doctor will give you a form which you will upload with your application. You will not be able to submit your application without that form. I won't advise a letter of explanation to get past that stage as it could have negative effects.

Finally, beware of your consultant. I don't know why he is doing what he is doing. If you choose to continue with this consultant, be sure to double and triple check your details before submission.

Goodluck, and congratulations on getting an ITA.

As per CIC

There are two ways you can have an immigration medical exam, depending on your immigration category

Wait for instructions once you have submitted your application
Instructions issued by CIC:

You will be instructed to go for a medical exam within 30 days of receiving the notice.

Instructions issued by Border Services Officer:

If you make a refugee claim at a port of entry, a Border Services Officer will instruct you to get a medical exam within 30 days.

Note: Failure to follow these instructions may result in your application being refused.

Undergo your exam before you submit your application (Required for certain categories: see your application guide)
This is called an up front medical exam.

You can contact a panel physician directly to get your medical exam.

Once your medical exam has been completed, the doctor will give you a document confirming that you underwent a medical exam. You must include a copy of that document with your application.

If the doctor works with the eMedical electronic system:

they will give you an up-front medical notification printout.
If the doctor works with a paper system:

they will give you a copy of the IMM 1017B Upfront Medical Report form.
You must attach that form to your application before you submit it to the visa office. If you apply online, you must upload that form before you can submit your application.

Why is there ambiguity then?

I would be very very careful of this consultant...
Personally, I would open a new EE profile immediately and try to get an ITA on my own... and then fire the guy without paying him a dime.. this sounds very shady...

I suggest you create a new EE profile immediately, incase there is a draw on Friday/Saturday..

What is your CRS score?
I hope you haven't given him your personal documents yet to upload...

One last query:

Can a FSW candidate go for an upfront medical?

I had a heated debate with my consultant and he says an upfront medical is done for student visa and CEC and spousal cases.

@EFK: I have already paid him the money. So in case I fire him, I don't get anything back. My CRS is 450 which will rise to 475 in Dec mid due to extra work ex score.

This is the screenshot he sent me:

Online Application
E000456148 - Permanent Residency October-2-2015 11:12:34 a.m. EDT 41 October-8-2015 02:37:48 a.m. EDT Not Submitted None

Can someone elaborate what it means?

Does it mean the draw was held on Oct 2 and I received the invite on Oct 8?

Yes. In fact they MUST undergo upfront medicals.

This means that you got your ITA on the 2nd Oct draw and it was last accessed on 8th Oct. And you have 41 days left as on the date of this screenshot to submit your post ITA application.

Does it mean the draw was held on Oct 2 and I received the invite on Oct 8?

He is obviously not aware of what the process is.. which should be reason enough to fire him and demand that the fees is returned... you could threaten to sue, depending on the country..
As Asivad currently pointed out: Since Jan 2015, ALL FSW applicants have to undergo upfront medical.. everywhere in the world...

I would still say: If you have not paid a large amount and you can walk away, please don't risk your future with this guy.. or try to file a complaint somewhere to get atleast a partial refund if not full..

Dude you absolutely do not need a consultant for this.... Your consultant is shady, try to get ride for them or keep a close watch on what, how and when they submit any information to CIC.
If your consultant does not know the basic process, god knows how they are going to handle your application as it progresses.
Follow this board for any information you may need.

Btw what is the name of your consultant .. if you want to warn other applicants to stay away.
